In the past I have always looked at the previous year's rosters on Riherds to see what players from last year have graduated and get an idea what each team has lost, but I have noticed on several school's rosters the seniors from last year have been removed. Is there some reason for this? Is it Riherds or is it the coaches doing this?

They have been off for quite some time. Rihards removes them upon graduation possibly?

Most rosters are not set at this point in time due to football or other fall sports.

Isn't this a recent change? I remember looking at these not long ago and the former players were listed. I also looked back two years ago and noticed those seniors are gone too. The 2011-12 season still has seniors listed. Maybe they didn't mean to do this. Strange.

What is happening is that when a school doesn't put a roster in for the current year at all or quickly enough, it simply promotes the previous year's roster while removing the seniors. I'm not sure whether it does this to those who put them in right away or not as well. I'm not sure why this then removes it from the previous year, but I'm learning to go ahead and document the roster from the previous year since it will not be available as a reference.

 

It would be nice if they'd figure the problem out. I don't like having to try to figure out who is missing.

I just noticed this recently too. I like to look back too for stuff like remembering names that I've forgotten. For example, I saw recently where Scott Co. grad G'lan Gywn (spelling?) was playing for the U.C. Bearcats, and I recall that when he was playing for the Cardinals there was a big tall white guy that was supposed to have a promising collegiate future, but I can't remember his name, and was wondering where he was playing now. I searched Riherds and none of that info was there. That was once a great resource to keep all the facts straight.

I've been getting on the KHSAA about this and was told it was going to be fixed.

I've been waiting since I first notified them of it during summertime. I expect that wait to continue indefinitely.
