Galilean Christian 54 Fox Creek Christian 53

Recommended Posts

Fox Creek Christian did not get off to the start they had hoped for, dropping their first contest of the year at home, losing to Galilean Christian 53-54.

Fox Creek played sloppy, rather uninspired ball in the first half and for some reason appeared to play nervous. Possibly first game jitters. After being tied at half time, Fox Creek rallied to take the lead 41-36 at the end of the 3rd. However, Galilean took a little momentum with them at the horn, hitting a basket in the lane after grabbing three offensive rebounds. That proved to be a BIG letdown for the Knights, and that basket came back to haunt them in the end. Missed free throws, missed wide open 3's, and fumbled balls and missed easy shots in the lane didn't help either.

The good thing is, even though Fox Creek played badly in almost all aspects of the game, they still had a chance to win. A 3 point shooting team, Fox Creek was only able to hit 4 of them, after taking 20+, with two of their best 3 point shooters not connecting on any of their attempts, most of them wide open, uncontested attempts. That will change, and it will have to for the undersized Knights to play to their potential.

The Knights were lead in scoring by Dakota Sallee with a very quiet 20 points. Dillon Ramsey, a Sr. playing his first year for Fox Creek had 18 points, but most notably none of his several 3 point attempts fell. Blake Long chipped in with 8.

Galilean's top two scores also had 20 and 18, respectively.

[/i]=Lawnboy13;]I blame the coach for the "L"[/b].. :lol2:

Hey a 1 point loss right outta the gate hurts, but hopefully the boys realize what they could have won had they played better. Get 'em next time.

Well, that's part of it for sure.:banghead: I definitely didn't have them prepared well enough, but they also found out they just can't stroll onto the floor and beat somebody either just because they think they can. It takes effort and teamwork, AND LISTENING TO THE COACH!

I used to live in Liberty.

They are somewhere in that area. We have yet to play there so I'm not sure exactly where they are located. I think it's a multi function school/home. Not only do they support a small Christian school, they also educate and house "special needs" children and young adults. They also have a local restaurant, The Bread of Life Café that, though I have yet to eat there, I hear is AWSOME! It helps educate some of the "higher functioning" special needs members there and they help work the facility. Our church actually helps support them, they have a very important mission there and are doing God's work for sure.

Who are some of the schools these teams play? Are they in home school leagues or private school leagues

Ok Cool so this a church based organization. I know there is a KCAA inside of the state of Kentucky and I was wondering if they were affiliated with it or not. KCAAONLINE.com Never heard of Fox Creek though or Galien Christian. I think its neat to read about indy basketball programs like this.

We aren't affiliated with the KCAA but play schools who are. There is also a KCSAA, which I think Galilean is a part of. They have some home school based teams in that organization as well. We don't belong to that either but again play several schools/teams who are. Some schools are also affiliated with both organizations.

Their school is south of Liberty on US 127, headed toward Russell Springs. The musician Charlie Daniels has been a huge financial supporter of the school/home.
