October 18, 201313 yr Now, don't get me wrong, both are amongst the best teams in the league IMO, but could at least a little bit of their success be a product of their schedules? Both teams 6 opponents have a combined record of 11-25, which is a .306 winning %. They've played 5 like opponents....The winless Jaguars, the winless Giants, the 2-4 Raiders, the 3-3 Cowboys, and the 3-3 Eagles. The Broncos have also played the 3-3 Ravens, while the Chiefs have played @ the 3-3 Titans. I think it begs the question, just how good are they both?

It is hard to not stumble in at least one game out of six in the NFL. With that being said. I would much rather play the Chiefs in a playoff than the Broncos. The Chiefs are outstanding defensively, but very average offensively. The Broncos are almost an automatic 35 points offensively and average defensively, hwoever, they get Miller back now and Ayers pretty soon, I think. They will go above average then. I know some people believe defense wins in the NFL, but it is a QB, offensive driven league. I believe the Broncos are the best team in the NFL, the Chiefs are in the top 5-7 teams when all is said and done.

I think Denver is the best offense in the league. The Chiefs are an elite defense. Neither is particularly good on the other side of the ball. It's the exact reason why I think Seattle is the best team in the league, and I don't think it's all that close. :idunno:

If not for Andrew Luck having the drive of his life at the end of that game, they're also unbeaten.

To be fair, if they're undefeated and share five common opponents, that's automatically 10 losses those teams have taken. So what I see are two teams that are 3-1 against other teams, one that is 2-2, and two of the worst teams in the league in the Jags and Giants (no way around them). Seattle's looked pretty great. If not for Andrew Luck having the drive of his life at the end of that game, they're also unbeaten. And the flip side of the coin is that if Schaub didn't make an incredibly boneheaded throw they lose to Houston and are 4-2.
October 18, 201313 yr Seattle is certainly in the conversation. Until last night, I didn't think Wilson was having a great year. He was good, not great. Last night against a pretty good defense, he was outstanding. When he plays like that, they are really tough because Lynch is an absolute beast and if you throw everything to try and contain him and most teams will have to, Wilson will kill you. Their defense is also outstanding. They will be a tough out. If they get home field, they will go to the SB. If they have to go to NO or SF, it will be a lot tougher.

I would love to see them matched up against Denver. Sherman and Browner against Thomas and Decker, Thomas against Welker, and Chancellor against J. Thomas. That would be an awesome battle.

If I was rating them, it would be 1) Denver 2) Seattle 3) Kansas City. One thing you have to remember about Denver is that they have served thus far without their top pass rusher (Von Miller) and until last game their #1 or #2 CB (Champ Bailey). They're not going to be the D they were last year, but they are still decent to good. And the offense is elite. Flip side of the coin, are you trying to tell me that Seattle is elite on both sides of the ball? Because that's the only way it could be "not close". And with games with only 1 offensive TD (Carolina and Houston) and others with only two (Indy & Tennessee), they're anything but elite. Seattle was very close to two additional losses. They forced a late fumble from Carolina to win that game 12-7 and the Houston game I mentioned in a previous post absolutely should have been a loss. Contrast that with Denver which was really only in trouble in the game against Dallas. Seattle's claim to superiority is best made in having the premier win of all three teams mentioned, the win over San Francisco. Other than that one game, I see zero difference in the schedules.

Not at all. Seattle's defense is good enough where they'd be able to hold the Broncos under 30, I'm very confident of that. While their offense isn't elite, it's the type that can really hurt Denver because they can eat up a large chunk of time. Plus, they're averaging just under 28 points a game, so it's not like they're not scoring at a high clip. Only teams scoring at a higher clip are Denver, Chicago, and Dallas.
October 18, 201313 yr If someone gave me 1000k and go put it all on the predicted Super Bowl winner. I would lay it down on the Broncos.
October 18, 201313 yr Author If someone gave me 1000k and go put it all on the predicted Super Bowl winner. I would lay it down on the Broncos. You'd most likely lose. I don't care how good they look in the regular season, there is no way anyone should trust their money to Peyton Manning in the postseason.
October 18, 201313 yr You'd most likely lose. I don't care how good they look in the regular season, there is no way anyone should trust their money to Peyton Manning in the postseason. Dinner at winner's choice. I'll take Broncos. You take anyone else, but name the team now.
October 18, 201313 yr Author Dinner at winner's choice. I'll take Broncos. You take anyone else, but name the team now. Not a bad deal, but I'll pass. We're both likely to end up wrong. I simply don't bet on NFL games anymore unless it's a 1000% guaranteed win.

But again, some of that scoring is coming from the defense. Which is fine, plus to the defense, just don't allow it to boost your view of the Seattle O. Two safeties, a pick six, and 19 forced turnovers. I expect some more points. They'd have another less offensive TD to count from last night if the turf monster didn't get their man on an INT return that he was touched down on at the 1. As for what the D would give up to Denver, they gave up 27 offensively to Indy (Colts scored 34 but one of those TDs was a blocked FG return). I don't think we'd disagree that Denver is better offensively than Indianapolis. Seattle is allowing around 20 PPG offensively outside of their stadium, and that average is greatly aided by the 7 they gave up to Carolina in week one, but we can call that a wash with garbage scoring by Arizona last night. That 20 PPG to the murderer's row of offenses Carolina, Houston, Indy, and Arizona. Denver at Seattle? Perhaps I agree with you about holding them under 30. Anywhere else (like the Super Bowl)? Nope.
October 18, 201313 yr I can't say that I share your opinion. If I was rating them, it would be 1) Denver 2) Seattle 3) Kansas City. 100% agree with your #1 and #2...I'll be shocked if Kansas City does better than 10-6 when all is said and done. Not a believer. That said, even 10-6, after 2-14 (I think), is a H.U.G.E accomplishment.
