June 30, 201412 yr I think Bourbon and Scotch translate well to each other. After the Thanksgiving Eve Jim Beam White Label incident back in the late '80s, I swore off Bourbon for several years and found myself enjoying Scotch quite regularly. That helped me transition back into Bourbon (but I won't touch Jim Beam white label again, other than as a cooking additive). JBW is not very good. I know length of aging doesn't always equal greatness but four years compared to most seven years is night and day.
June 30, 201412 yr In Louisville for a friends birthday a few years ago. Ordered a round of 8 Jagerbombs. The bartender thought I said Jack bombs. Jack and red bull is not a combination I knew existed and wish I still didn't know existed. And Tequila. I. Hate. Tequila. I'm not big on Tequila, it smells like dirty feet to me. I did recently attend a Reds game and they had Patron so I gave it shot since I knew I'd never buy it. Surprisingly it was pretty good, not like the rot gut stuff I sampled in the past.
