October 18, 201313 yr Who said they were an elite offense? So what is being stretched? Hence the reason the word could was used in the title. They have a lot of numbers that most offenses would like to have, but obviously at the end of the day it is about scoring points. Which obviously they don't do to great, and stall a lot on drives or have dumb penalties or interceptions. That gets us back to the play of Dalton, it is about being consistent. When and if he can be more consistent the offense can be really good. Dalton being consistent week in and week out is obviously something we have not seen and may not see. This was basically to show that the offense is not as bad as some may think. It just comes down to consistency I would say that they are farther from being elite, than they are close to being elite on offense. Are they bad? no. But not anywhere near elite. Why can't we just accept them for who they are? Nice team overall, in a weak division, things click could advance in playoffs. Be happy with a 4-2 record and quit trying to read things into it that simply aren't there.

Going by what you just posted then I guess a thread could be made saying Jets offense could become elite. Don't be upset at me for pointing out the obvious, shoot the messenger instead lol.

They are an offense that will score between 17-24 a game. The defense will allow about 14-21. That's about a 10-6 team. Above average not elite. History shows that you need to be hot going into the playoffs no matter what your record.

Nope maybe you should learn to assume, I am sure you have heard what happens when you assume? I mean just like last year you assumed since I said that anything can happen once a team makes a playoffs, that it meant I thought the Bengals were great. Learn to take what someone says, instead of assuming. Trust me if I wanted to say the Bengals offense were elite, I would have no problem saying that if that is what I meant.

Hmmm it seems to me the way I have looked at this team over the last few years, has been much more correct than you or most people on here have looked at this team. So who has been reading things that simply aren't there? Also I do believe overall on the offense they are closer than what people think, and numbers show that. Now can they ever get there? Maybe not and that gets back to the highly debated topic on our QB. I believe with a better QB that this offense very well would be, but with Dalton it might never happen. Which I already have shared my feelings with Dalton. It was to show really that yes the pieces are there, it just comes down to our QB play.

Umm, isn't that what you did? when you make a thread title saying Bengals offense could become Elite, isn't that you talking up the offense and saying they have what it takes to be elite? like I said, don't be upset at me, you are the one who made this thread and title lol

When they are in the top five of relevant offensive categories, let's talk. I really hesitate responding to you. So lets just leave this at this point. Your stats that opened this thread were quickly disparaged by numerous posters. You fail to understand the points being made by these posts. Until you start to get it, there isn't much to discuss

However once again as usual with you, you like to ignore the key words. Like the word could. So not upset at you, just telling you how it is and reminding you what happens when someone assumes lol.
October 20, 201313 yr Author When they are in the top five of relevant offensive categories, let's talk. I really hesitate responding to you. So lets just leave this at this point. Your stats that opened this thread were quickly disparaged by numerous posters. You fail to understand the points being made by these posts. Until you start to get it, there isn't much to discuss You mean like how you all have continually ignore my points for the last 3 years on this team, and how my points keep being shown to be right about this team? It works both ways man, I have heard every reason possible from people the last 3 years to try to make excuses on how someone I still was not right on this team for the last 3 years. Did I say this offense was elite? Nope. Did I say they will become elite? Nope. Did I say the offense has the potential and probably better than we realize, yep. So what points did you all make that make what I said wrong? Especially today when we are seeing how this team really does have a lot of the pieces to be elite. The offense and Dalton did really well today. The only thing missing is being able to hit that long ball better. If we had a QB that could do that, then yes the pieces are there to be. Now I admit Dalton may never be good at that, and probably have to accept that with Dalton. Which if Dalton can play well in all the other parts like he has the last two weeks it can at least be a good offense. Its simple the pieces are there to be an elite explosive offense, the only thing that may prevent that is the QB. However I will gladly take how Dalton has played the last two weeks, because just being a good offense could be good enough to make this a special season.
October 20, 201313 yr I do t think we've if ignored your points the last 3 years. I remember many of them such as Dalton is like Hall of Fame QB's Or Dalton is like Drew Brees. Lol. You made this thread and now you act like it wasn't your intent to put bengals offense And can be elite in the same sentence. Lol.

You made this thread and now you act like it wasn't your intent to put bengals offense And can be elite in the same sentence. Lol. There you go again. Still waiting for you in those Bree's threads to show me where I ever said Dalton will end up being as good as Brees? Still waiting. I have said that it was to early to make a judgement on Dalton after just two years, and I continually used how Brees sucked and was not wanted anymore by his own team after 3 seasons. Then it all finally started to click for him, that was the example from the beginning. So still waiting for you to show me otherwise on that. Now I am going to still be waiting for you to show me where I said this offense will be elite? I will be waiting for awhile. Or should I teach you the definition of the word could means? We could go grab a drink and I can teach you that if you like? Which I stand by that this offense does have all the pieces to be elite except at QB. Marvin Jones is getting better and better each week and becoming that #2 receiver. We have two TE's who can also stretch the field, when Gresham is not an idiot lol. Play maker at runningback and a solid line. Dalton is showing how good this offense is when he is consistent and he has been the last two weeks. If could also add the ability to stretch the field, then yes this offense would be an explosive and possibly elite offense. Now as we know Dalton may never develop that deep pass, so at best they probably can just hope to be a good offense. The post was to show that this offense was not as bad as people think, and do have the pieces to be. It just comes down to its QB, and was shown today again. Its a good offense, and if Dalton can hit the long ball it could possibly be even more than that. However people like you see the word elite and Bengals and say he is calling the Bengals offense elite. Instead of reading what is said.

Hmmmmm, I don't know about anyone else, but those two sentences pretty much takes care of that doesn't it? Your Honor, the prosecution rests.
October 20, 201313 yr Author Hmmmmm, I don't know about anyone else, but those two sentences pretty much takes care of that doesn't it? Your Honor, the prosecution rests. Rest with what? Proves that I never called them elite, or said they will be? Seems to me that it proves that people saw elite, and bengals. So instead of looking at what was said, it was assumed that I was saying they are or definitely will be elite. Once again what happens when you assume? Which you are very good at. At the end of the day me and you are actually kind of in a agreement on Dalton. I am just not as negative on him. However as I said all off season he is the key to the team success this year, so I am going to be hard on him because I believe the other pieces are there. That's why I am looking at big picture, and he needs to keep playing good consistently like he has lately if they want to make a special run.

Next time be more careful how you title threads.
October 20, 201313 yr Author Jury came back and you lost lol. Next time be more careful how you title threads. Nope I am good. I believe it was VOR or someone who said it best in the update thread. Just because that is the way you want to see it in your mind, doesn't make it true. The word could in the title completely proves what your saying to be wrong. As I said I have no problem grabbing a drink with you and teaching you what the word could means, and what it means if used in a sentence?
