Cats Pause 12th Region Rankings

Haven't seen Elkins enough to render an accurate opinion. But have seen the Miller kid at Lincoln which no one seems to know about. Like I've been saying, I'm just trying to get an explanation/justification for rating Boyle over those 2 teams. On paper, it doesn't bear out - without Miniard. And I agree Adams is a great coach but this is the first time in a few years that Lincoln has the talent edge on the court

 

I look forward to your write-up as you did some really nice analysis last year. I just think that your black and gold colored ( Rebel) glasses cause some blurred vision at times

They do, which I referenced in my comment/question to you. Boyle lost their PG and leading scorer, their 6'7" game changer and 1.5 other starters. Coming back is their second leading scorer, another kid that started some of their games and a transfer. That's it in terms of kids that saw any significant minutes at the varsity level last year. Throw in Elkins and I think there's certainly potential there but there just isn't the level of proven players like on a Lincoln and West Jessamine. I'm not trying to downplay Boyle, just don't think Lincoln and West (and a couple of their players) are getting the respect they deserve on here.

If Lincoln and West are both top 5 teams then how are they not getting respect?

Exactly my point but about Boyle!! Truth is, only Wayne has earned it given the different looks of this year's versions of the top 6 teams. It wouldn't surprise me if any of those 5 end up 2nd...or 1st for that matter. Parity amongst the top 6 teams.

Just to let you guys know, I did the 12th Region Preview for The Cats Pause, and I had to have my content in by the end of July. So that's why players such as Kapinga, ect. are listed. Also, the team rankings and player rankings (both boys and girls) are done by head coaches votes that I asked for while compiling the information. Some coaches didn't submit a vote or information on their team.

Wow, that's an interesting approach. It all makes more sense now lol. Guess its hard for Cats Pause to produce an article about it since they dont actually cover high school basketball. Regardless, thanks for the clarification.
