Toothpick
I think the numbers are pretty revealing about who the best teams are. Mayfield and Russ have wins over teams rank 100 or above and no one else does. Mayfield has 3 wins over opponests ranked above 100 and has clearly played the toughest schedule of the 1A . I think it shows why Russ should be ranked #2, its Ft C win is better than anyone elses win other than Mayfield Edited September 26, 2013 by Toothpick

gchs_uk9
This shows that wins are very important in the LIT ratings. Frankfort's opponents are much better than Bethlehem's or Paintsville's, but both of those teams have won more than Frankfort.

The ranked order is from this weeks AP poll. I just added the Lit numbers for teams played, here is how Lit ranks them CLASS A 1.Mayfield 113.9 2.Russellville 97.7 3.Beechwood 97.7 4.Frankfort 92.4 5.Fairview 91.6 6.Raceland 90.2 7.Williamsburg 87.8 8.Bellevue 83.0 9.Hazard 82.1 10.Pikeville 81.4 11.Bethlehem 80.9 12.Holy Cross 74.9 13.Paintsville 72.0 14.KCD 61.6 15.Paris 60.7 16.Pineville 55.5 17.Eminence 45.7 18.Harlan 41.6 19.Lynn Camp 39.
Voice of Reason
^ That looks more like what I would have expected from a computer ranking that factors in strength of schedule. All of it is good info TP. Thanks for posting.
Geek61
OK, so how is it calculated?
Voice of Reason
OK, so how is it calculated? Here is some info, although not very specific: The Litratings rank every team in Kentucky based on a formula that includes scores, strength of schedule and other factors. Only games against in-state opponents are included in the Litratings. Trinity football No. 1 in first Litkenhous Ratings | Jason Frakes ? KHS The key point I see in that info is Lit uses scores as a factor.

But we're halfway through the season and that's when the computer ratings start to look more accurate.
