You guys know better than that. Dusty is obviously going with the veteran.

I think it may depend on how their series is going with the Mets AND how the Pirates are fairing versus the Cubs. If Cincy wins each of the first two against NY, and the Cubs happen to knock off the Pirates in each of their first two...then, I could see the possibility of Hamilton getting another start in the series finale.

He means in the OF.

Oh ok scared me for a minute. I'm all for Arroyo getting a start in the Division series but not the WC.

At least it's not Heisey or Robinson starting over him.

Again, if Hamilton doesn't make the playoff roster I'm leading the charge. No reason he isn't on it.

John Fay says the Reds are also listing Reynolds as the starter meaning either Latos or Bailey is starting the potential WC game after being skipped on their last start or on short rest or neither one of them is making that start.

Covering all potential outcomes?

In the Reds current situation, it wold make no sense to start anyone on short rest to determine advancing in the playoffs.

Not sure what you're saying. Latos pitched Friday. Wednesday is his normal day meaning he comes back Monday of next week for normal rest but they probably play Tuesday so he would be ready Tuesday on an extra day. If he goes Friday Tuesday is short rest. Reynolds starting makes zero sense unless Latos isn't starting Tuesday.

And even if he isn't, it still makes no sense because Bailey is the only other possible option.

Agreed. I hope this is just a mistake and we're worried about nothing but if Reynolds makes that start who starts the WC game? If it isn't Latos or Bailey it's a huge mistake. If it is one of them it's on short rest or after being skipped or going out there for only a couple innings. Latos Wednesday and Tuesday makes the most sense. If they happen to tie St Louis I wouldn't burn Latos on that Monday but him Monday and Bailey in the WC game isn't a terrible option if they would lose Monday.

For some reason, I feel like Dusty is going to do something stupid like start Leake or Arroyo "to reward them for such a good season"...

I really didn't know what post 22 meant. You said Latos or Bailey are potentially starting the WC game after being skipped, or on short rest, or not at all. That has to be right.

If Reynolds starts Wednesday instead of Latos then Latos either gets skipped Friday and hasn't pitched for 11 days before the WC game, pitches Friday and comes back for the WC game on short rest or doesn't pitch the WC game. Same for Homer and Saturday's start. If Latos goes Wednesday and Homer goes Friday they are set up.

Bailey: WHIP - 1.11; ERA - 3.40

Latos: WHIP - 1.22; ERA - 3.23

Arroyo: WHIP - 1.14; ERA - 3.60

Leake: WHIP - 1.22; ERA - 3.21

Cingrani: WHIP - 1.10; ERA - 2.92

Obviously, Cingrani hasn't had as many starts (And isn't healthy). With the lack of run support from this team, it can't be Arroyo because of the number of HR's he gives up, IMO. After that, you can throw anyone.
