The one that nobody had mentioned is Coach J.D. Bussell at Rockcastle County High School. He has a brilliant mind for the game.

 

I will also second the notion for the coaching staff at Corbin. Coach Garmon is a class act.

Simply put, I disagree and I will not post on this again. This is my opinion from some of the antics that I have witnessed. Stealing the other teams signs is bush and this is only one example.

I disagree as well. Not because the stealing signs issue because I feel that is part of the game, to devise signs that are hard to pick up, but because of other issues. For example, two years ago, a kid from Middlesboro hit two homeruns against Corbin in his first two appearances to the plate. What happens to him his next time up, surprise, he gets plunked. That happens often after a batter hits a homerun against Corbin.

 

Also, Justin Stewart a few years back. Everyone who knows of the kid knows how extremely wild he was throwing the ball. Couple that with the fact that he threw the ball about 88 and that makes for a dangerous pitcher. Now, one game he was abnormally wild and plunked about 5 against Corbin (I would say his average was 3 per game). A few of these came in costly situations as well which showed that they clearly weren't intentional. What happens to Stewart his in his last two plate appearances, he gets plunked. In fact, on the first one, they threw behind him one pitch before they actually got him.

 

Things like this make me have not respect for Garmon. Ledington is a good one though, no doubt the most vital coach on their staff.

The reason why I said that about Garmon is because of the interaction that I have had with him myself PLUS he was one of the factors that got the sectional tournament a fews years ago moved to Lexington Catholic when it had rained out Rockcastle County's game versus Hazard three consecutive days. He always treated me with respect so therefore I will do the same to him.

 

I will not comment on my opinion as far as the hitting of the batters because this is something that I feel really strongly about and don't think this is the thread that it should be mentioned in. Remember folks that this thread should be about the coach that we think is one of the best in the state.

I believe Bryan Dean of Letcher will be one of the top coaches in the state. He has done a great job at every school he has been at and with the support he will prove himself worthy of being one of the tops.

Bob meyerhoff definatley. he took one of the smallest schools in ky (Beechwood) and should have beat Trinity 3 ys ago in the state tourny. And i believe Beechwood will go back to state this yr. Bob knows baseball in and out and takes decent kids and turns them into a really good baseball team. Not to mention his record in the past 4 years is 100-25. INCREDIBLE
