Raceland gets the win but from the report that I got just now it looked like Raceland star Connor Messer was injured pretty bad at the end of the game. Coal Grove was going beyond "physical", were flagged a couple of times for late hits / PF's, etc.

Back to info about the actual game, Coal Grove jumped out to a lead then Raceland, inspired after a late hit call on C.G. ra off three quick td's gaining control of the game. Raceland led the entire game after C.G. scored first. Coal Grove made a 2nd half run closing the gap to the 9 point deciding difference.

Hopefully someone will update us on any other stats, etc. and the extent of the Messer injury. I don't know what kind of injury it was.

They told him to take a seat to keep from a fight starting. He was protecting Connor who was speared by a cheap play.

O.K. then, that was the info that I got. I did hear that there were cheap shots thrown by Coal Grove pretty much all night.

RAMS.....you got out of bad place to play for any KY. team and came out with the victory ! You expected to win, went out and executed and got Win #4 !

Coal Grove is a solid team that is fundamentally sound. Aside from the late choppiness, it was a pretty good game.

I realize that is early and Messer may not have been completely examined/evaluated yet but is there any word/idea on the injury? Prayers go out for Conner Messer.

I am watching this one now.

I was rooting for Raceland so I am glad they won.

I do not often root against Ohio teams, but with almost 720 teams playing football, one can not always root for them all.

I have sent this game to a recruiter for a coach that I was texting with during the game I attended tonight.

He actually called one of the players parents as the game was going on trying to recruit him.

He was told the kid was not interested in his school and thanked him for the call.

This particular recruiter does Ohio for his team, but will send all the info on the players from this game I have told him about to the coach in charge of Kentucky.

Prayers for #1

Hopefully he can recover 100% and do so as fast as possible.

Thanks NCF. Can you say what kind of injury it was on Messer? He is a great kid from a good family. All around athlete.

I did not know he was injured until I read it on here.

I am almost sure one of the GREAT Raceland posters can give details on it.

I'd say he will be fine. Took a late hit that shook him a little. He'll be playing next week.

I got a call later that was very hopeful, positive. Maybe looked worse that it actually turned out to be. I probably "jumped the gun" a little, just don't like seeing any kid hurt.
