Everyone have their big boy pants on. Are you all advertising for feminine hygiene products. Dixie won, NCC lost.....congrats to the Colonels on the win. Regardless of injuries, and who is at full steam, half steam, a quarter steam. Get over yourselves.

I've watched NCC 8th graders pound Turkeyfoot 6th and 7th graders into submission for 3+ quarters for the last two years on the middle school level and not play 2nd or 3rd string players at all up 3 touchdowns. The "class" card being played is beyond amusing. So the JV had to endure a couple series against...a varsity opponent due to injuries. Someone had to honor the middle school perspective, it compliments the deflection of a Dixie win.

Congrats to the Colonels on the win. And yes tone it down Colonels on the last touchdown against the JV, if that was the case. Remember being 16-17 years old and not winning against that opponent for 3 years? They did and were excited. So emotions trumped class assuming that was the case. Are we playing chess at Cov Latin or football? Apologies to the sensitive on behalf of the Colonels faithful.

Here's a thought, Dixie and NCC are tuning up for good runs in their districts and will do well. More so if their fans, parents, and coaches "nut up" and honor good. God speed to the injured and praying for success to both squads!

Be blessed and have a good weekend!

Are you seriously taking it back to middle school now who needs to put the big boy pants on? As I said before this game is done and over with, but I will stand by what I said when I said it classless. Again, congrats to Dixie good luck.

For the record NewCath's Jr. High has always consisted of 6, 7, & 8th graders. Last year they had a total of eight 8th graders, of which some didn't even start or play the majority of the game. So your wrong about watching NCC's 8th graders pounding any team. There were only 22 players on the team last year for NewCath, so they didn't even have enough to have a 3rd string. Their head coach for the Jr. High, Jeff Brauley, is a very well respected coach and person, as are the rest of the Jr. High coaches. Jeff NEVER ran the score up on any team he played, and never would, because the Breds know what that feels like. NewCath has one of the smallest Jr. High teams in the NKMSAA, but still compete in the Medium Middle School division against schools, because they always have such a good team and they usually win their division. Turkeyfoot doesn't have a combined (7/8 grade) squad according to their website (last updated in April 2013), Kenton County School District you'll see that they had 40 kids sign up for the varsity (8th grade) team and about 25 for the JV (7th grade) team. It doesn't even list any 6th graders signing up. If you added all the kids up that they had sign up they would have a total of 65 kids. I know they probably had some kids not play that signed up, and even possibly had a few more sign up, but they still have more kids playing than NewCath has, with a combined team. Don't complain about the 8th graders playing against the other schools that have that many kids in their Junior High program.

Congrats to Dixie. The game last night is over and done with, the Breds will be fine. They will have some of the starters returning next week, all will be just fine on the hill!!

Lol, have you not seen SK or HHS play? Line not near as big as SK, and although 34 is a good player, Powell is better.

:lol2: No, Mr. Obvious, I haven't seen Highlands or SK. That is why I said "best team I have seen", not best team in N. Ky. Duh.:ohbrother:

Hit the " nail on the head"" with your comment about Jeff ('83 NewCath alum), don't get any better then him.

Trust me Jeff knows what it feels like to have the score run up on a team, as a 4 year starter at Duke University he experienced alot of that. :lol2:

I'm not a fan of the "classless" card being thrown around, unless it's completely warranted. Without being at the game to witness first hand, it's hard to truly know if it is warranted. However, from the posts here, I'm not quite sure it was a classless move.

1. It was a 3 score game with 8 minutes left. It was a game that had double digit, or close to double digit, fumbles, and some picks.

-Why would NCC pull their starters with that much time left? Did they pull all 11 or just a handful? With upwards of 10 kids out at that point, I'm not sure if NCC has enough to replace all 11.

2. If I'm a coach up 3 scores with over 8 minutes left in a game where I've fumbled and turned the ball over numerous times, I'm keeping my starters in to seal the game regardless of what the other team does. I've seen too many crazy things occur at this level that I'm not chancing it, including teams putting in their JV/2nd string for a series only to have the starters return.

Let me correct myself, Moore,Owens(33 not 36) Radenhausen were in on the final two plays of the drive. Caple came out after a long catch and run. Ball on NCC 22. Washington dive for 4 yd gain. Tackled by #5 for NCC Sutkamp. A STARTER. Next play, Washington run over rt. tackle Steven Huber, a backup for DHHS for 18 yd and a td. This play however, Sutkamp for NCC not in! That was the only substitute. Dont believe me, watch the tape. Like I Did.

Again, Brossart is class act who has shown these kids they can be great.

A pass with 4 mins left from their starting QB to another starter against JV secondary will get them ready for Trinity!

Then you don't have an eye of a tiger, but an eye of a arse. Please don't post ridiculous statements if you don't have anything to compare it to.

Duh :deadhorse:

Then you don't have an eye of a tiger' date=' but an eye of a arse. Please don't post ridiculous statements if you don't have anything to compare it to. Duh :deadhorse:[/quote'] You are definitely doing for your team what Uk#1fan has done for SK. ...creating a bunch of haters. I can think of no coach with more class than Dave Brossart. He is all about the kids. Sure, his certainly come first, but he knows what this game is about and unlike many coaches, he knows it's not about him. Classless is the most incorrect adjective I can think of for him. In one and half seasons, he has turned a decimated program into a solid team that will be a solid playoff team. He did that by showing the kids some love and showing them it's all about them. As a result he has them believing in themselves. I wish some other Breds fans would post so it doesn't look like a bunch if cry babies. I respect the Breds and almost every fan I know.

Oops. My bad. It would seem all the antagonizers have "FAN" in their name. It's easy to get confused. For the record, coach Brossart didn't get beat 3 times.

The only thing missing from this thread which would make it a NCC/Dixie throwback to the glory days of the "Super Bowl of Scrimmage Games" is if our guy Makavelli was posting.

Not sure if this content was aimed to me, but since my name has "fan" in it, I take offense to being called an antagonizer. I've said nothing to be considered an antagonizer, everything I've said is FACT.

What I said was that all Antagonizers have FAN in their name. I didn't say all those with Fan in their name were antagonizers . If you called Brossart "classless" then my original comments WERE directed at you. The Antagonizer remark was for special "fans".

Alright you two, time for a "group hug". Might have to add NkyFootballFan & EyeofTheTiger also. :D

Nobody is antagonizing anything. You may disagree, but everyone there knows what happened whatever you're personal feelings for Brossart are. You obviously disagree with what is being said and that's ok, that's the joy of being entitled to you're opinion.

Good to know, thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't one who called Coach Brossart classless, I actually was defending Newcath Jr. high coach from being called the same.
