Explain the difference in Somerset's ranking and Danville's?

 

Somerset started the year ahead of Danville.

 

Both have two losses:

 

Somerset's coming to a very solid #8 5A Pulaski County and the #1 3A team Belfry.. they were beat soundly by both. Their lone win was over a weak 5A team in Southwestern.

 

Danville's losses came to a good, but not great 4A Mercer County and a blowout loss to #5 4A Boyle COunty. Their lone win was against a weak 4A Franklin-Simpson.

 

To me their resume's are about the same, but I would give the edge to Somerset considering they started the year higher and also ate Danville's lunch for them twice last season.

I disagree. Caldwell beat DeSales pretty good last year. Since pre-season rankings are based on personell coming back for teams BGpreps had Caldwell ranked #1. Desales at #2 is good.

I am more than happy with my Tigers at #1, and I am sure they are pleased too. DeSales should be 1a oe at the very least #2 IMHO.

I know Danville and OC both got trounced, but I don't think Bardstown has been sharp enough to justify being ranked ahead of them at the moment. Not knocking my team, but they know what I'm talking about. Nelson County is a solid 4A team who can score in bunches, lets see how the Tigers D does Friday night before making any pronouncements.
