Why?? They've got two quarterbacks on the roster, Foles and Barkley. He's just not accurate enough to keep this offense moving. You see what happened when Vick started misfiring in the second half. This offense can't afford 3 and outs.

In all seriousness, that video does capture so much of the enigma that is and controversies surrounding Tebow.

I think that the fact that Belicheck had invited Chip Kelly to his practices last year to talk strategy is telling, I will say that.

In a traditional drop back system Tebow has no shot. But in a read option type system I think he is accurate enough to get the job done. I can't fully dismiss that in Florida's system (I know it's college) Tebow is the SEC's all time leader in efficiency rating, completion percentage, and TD/INT ratio. It was not like Florida was throwing the ball 10 times a game either. The higher the tempo and spread out, the better Tebow plays as evident by 2 seasons ago with Denver, Tim had the highest QBR in the NFL the final five minutes of football games. Makes no sense, I know.

Going forward with my Eagles I just worry about attrition. With depth I believe they could score on teams all season. But it is bound to catch up with them. Vick has never been able to stay healthy and do not believe he can sustain running this offense.

Having him in and spreading the field out is just a new dimension in the game. You have an extra blocker in, which compensates for his lack of throwing ability. I think he can be effective in the right system.

 

Look at it this way, the Oakland Raiders are probably going to be more successful playing Terrelle Prior than they would be playing Matt Flynn.

 

With that said, I think Andrew Luck is going to be a far more effective quarterback than some of his peers in his draft class who are getting all the hype right now (*cough* RGIII, Wilson *cough*), but if you don't have a true franchise cornerstone like a Luck, Eli, Peyton, etc., then you are probably going to be just as well off, if not better, playing a guy like Tebow than you would be playing a guy like Foles, Kolb, Fitzpatrick, Weeden, or a whole host of names of horrible starters/mediocre back-ups we could name. Now, with that said, if guys like Tebow became the rule instead of the exception, I would backtrack on that statement. Right now though, I think there's something to be said for being the guy whose unique and takes a different approach to preparation and game planning than the normal, cookie cutter backup QB whose not a starter for good reason.

I wouldn't imagine Tebow in a 3-4 receiver set as being effective. I would think a more compressed, power running style would suit him, which was more of what he had in Denver unless I'm mistaken.
