The Pirates travel to Somerset to take on the Warriors of Southwestern. Game time is at 8 PM. This is part of a bowl game, just not sure what the name of it is.

 

Belfry comes in at 2-0 with wins over Somerset (37-12) and Harlan County (21-12). Belfry comes in averaging 29 points a game while giving up 12 points a game.

 

Southwestern comes in at 0-3 with losses to Corbin (14-0), Knox Central (31-28), Somerset (22-19). Warriors come in averaging 15.6 points a game while giving 22.3 points a game.

 

 

Thoughts / Predictions?

No question, Belfry wins big.

If that bus ride doesn't suck the juice out of them Belfry should run the clock on SW. Belfry just too much for a young and improving Warrior team.

Southwestern has been much better than people anticipated.. their losses have came to a pair of 3-0 teams and a Somerset team who I still think we will be a major factor now that their schedule lightens up. They were in each game until the end of the 4th Qtr.

 

With that said, barring a case of overlooking an 0-3 Warrior team coupled with their second straight long road trip, the Pirates should be a better team in all aspects of the game.

I think Belfry will shut Southwestern's offense down. The Warrior defense has been better than expected but I think the misdirection and option look will give them trouble. The long trip might have the Pirates a little sluggish to begin but I think they win this one pretty easily. Belfry, 42-6.

Southwestern has a brutal schedule. Barring a pretty big upset they are looking at starting out 0-7.
