Series: First Meeting

Warren Central enters this game in the midst of their first 3 game losing streak since they had a pair of those streaks in 2008. They're also off to an 0-2 start for the first time since 1995, a season they lost their first six games in en route to a 2-8 record. So it goes without saying the Dragons could use a win to right the ship and restore confidence. Prior to last Friday, that may have looked a lot easier that it does now. That wasn't Warren Central's doing - they were much improved in their loss to Boyle County compared to their season opener. No, the change in the mindset was due to DeSales's resounding upset of John Hardin 25-20, one of the larger upsets in recent memory. DeSales was unranked and John Hardin hadn't lost a regular season game since 2008. Suddenly, an 0-3 start is looking not only possible, but ask some and they'd probably call it likely.

The Dragons hope the return to the friendly confines will be the boost they need. Under Coach Rogers, they're 20-3 at home and have won 19 of their last 21 there. The lone losses came to Christian County in the 2010 region finals and to eventual state champion Bowling Green last year. Will it be enough?

I'm pulling for the Colts. Maybe there is a Joe Federspiel, Bubba Paris, Doug James or Gary Theiler hidden on their roster.

The Colts travel down 65 and pick up a big road win.

Desales 27-23.

I am picking Warren Central 28-21. There are two things that make me feel this way. First WC has played two good teams in a row and with their talent can beat almost anyone on a given night. The other thing is there could be a bounce factor for Desales coming off the tremendous win against JH.

Big challenge for the Colts. Hope they are up to the challenge!! Based off of early season results, DeSales has it going in the right direction. Good Luck and enjoy the north bound trip!!!!

The boys on Morgantown Road pull out a squeaker in the Hood!
