The 16th Region!!! What a shame.

This just confirms my statement earlier - when Wilcox, Williams, and Cannoy put up some offense, the Tomcats are a tough team to beat. When it is McDavid and Thomas alone, we struggle to be mediocre. From listening to the internet, it sounded like Ashland was moving the ball around on offense well.

I will add though that I heard the end of the game and Ashland did shoot a few down the stretch when Elliott was forced to foul, so it might not be as bad as it looks.

Good win for Ashland, esp after the way they had been playing. I guess they had the same team that beat BC show up against Elliott. This team is very hard to figure out though, there generally aren't this many inconsistencies on a team from game to game.

That is for sure! It will be interesting to see which Ashland team shows up for the Districts and probably the Regionals! I wonder if the Tomcats can string these types of games together as they will have to in order to advance?? :sssh:

It would be "myopic" to think that the T-cats don't retain a considerable advantage at home- much more so than most teams in the 16th Region, IMHO! This opinion is not based on this season but the body of work over 7-8 seasons.

That may be the case but last night Ashland simply outplayed Elliott. The difference in free throws was a result of Elliott fouling late in the game. I actually thought Elliott got a pretty good whistle for most of the game.

Jonathan Ferguson and Ethan Faulkner led Elliott in scoring with 17pts each. Ronald Weddington had 14pts and Evan Faulkner had 12pts. Ferguson led Elliott with 4 board's. Ashland killed Elliott on the boards. Free Throws Ashland shot 26 Elliott shot 9.
