Good win for the panthers. Played hard and kept their cool when arguments arose. Fleming's defense has really shown to be effective lately and Fleming's offense seemed to have shown up tonight. The most points Fleming has scored in a while. Good win Panthers!

Everytime I've posted in a Jackson loss I've explained how it was their own fault and what they could have done better. This one, what a joke. South Laurel would have had trouble over there tonight. A good moral win for Jackson. They fought hard and deserved to win. Neurtral floor, Tigers win by 15+. What a shame. Fleming probably shot 40 free throws. Everytime Jackson would cut it to 1 Fleming would shoot 3 or 4 free throws. Howard had 16 at the half and was played by a box and hanger the second half. Not chaser, hanger. There's a difference there. Jackson is going to have to order Howard a new uniform for next weekends game because Fleming stretched it out so far it won't stay on his shoulders anymore. Hope it gets here by Friday. Howard still finished with 22 or 23. Fleming probably won't shoot free throws the rest of the week in practice and my ears are still ringing as I will hear whistles in my head for a few days. Straight up game, Jackson wins easily. Shame, shame! Teenage kids should not be treated this way regardless of what region or where you are from. Good game Tigers! Enough, I'm too angry to post anymore, what a joke! :madman:

Why would the 16th region officials reward Coach Messer? He certainly seems to disagree with them on almost every call? I too am sad if the Panthers had a home court advantage.

Thats funny. You want to blame it on the officials. Why don't you go back and look at shot selection. Fleming was pounding the ball in the paint while Jackson City was firing them from beyond the arc or off of one dribble from 15 feet. There is going to be an obvious difference from that factor right there. And when you go back to look at that tape tell me how many three point plays fleming had vs. Jackson City. You'll find that jackson city has almost double the number of 3 points plays.

Finally, I'm sure that Coach Messer's ears are ringing from trying to avoid a bench clearing brawl. Or maybe you don't remember the kid that came off of Jackson City's bench and pushed Coach Messer in the chest and yelled at him about how he was going to whip him ... only in more explicit language.

It definitely makes it difficult to argue that Jackson City was not treated fairly when a player has the nerve to leave the bench and push the opposing team's coach.

Seems to me the score was reflective of justice deserved.

If a player leaves the bench and pushes any coach or player for that matter, then I'm shocked that there wasn't a brawl of some sort. Discipline and self control is compromised it sounded like.

I believe the ringing probably is due to the screaming fan who couldn't be queit during free throws. And that fan was a Jackson city fan so you can thank your own fans for the ringing in your ears

The only reason South Laurel would have had a problem in the Den is because the Panthers came out ready to play. You can make your winy excuses all you want about a hanger, but what it all boils down to is the numbers belows PANTHERS and GUEST on the scoreboard. And the last time I checked, the panthers had the higher score. GOOD WIN FELLAS!

I believe multiple players for both teams fouled out so there goes the theory that the refs were Homers. Howard is a good player that was well defended most of the night and was probably held a couple of times trying to get open but the Panthers D stiffened in the 2nd half. As far as almost having a bench clearing brawl, cooler heads prevailed but the momentum of those 2 kids caused that to be more than it was. A player from Jackson did push Coach Messer in the chest and I commend Messer for keeping his cool. Him and the coach from Jackson got together and the matter was settled. Most of Jacksons shots were from the outside and they didnt shoot too well except for Howard who was on fire in the 1st half. I think Fritz led the Panthers in scoring followed by Gray. Good win Fleming.

What a shame. Anyway, where was Flemings coach when he got pushed, I believe he was directly in front of Jackson's bench grabbing one of Jackson's players, hmm, wonder why in the world anyone would push him away. Also, anytime you treat kids as they were treated, you have the potential for a brawl. What started the whole mess, Flemings big man slammed a smaller kid from Jackson to the floor right in front of Jackson's bench then Flemings coach came over and got involved. I don't care what anyone says, nertral floor with 5th grader refs, Tigers win by 15+. Nobody likes to lose, but losing in that way is a shame. Also, the one screaming during free throws was a 6 or 7 year old kid. I think it was a shame that the refs and also the school allowed flemings pep section to stand on the floor and not allow Jackson's players to set up in the corner. The gym was about 1/4 the way full and they stood on the floor, not out of bounds on the sideline but about 2 feet on the floor. Shame shame all around. Good win Tigers! You earned it.

Good win Tigers? Wow... not only are you mistaken on how far out onto the floor the Fleming student section was, but apparently you also do not know who actually won the game.

First, Richie Gray #55 (Fleming's Big Man) had possession of the ball in front of Jackson's bench when the playing Jackson player became overly physically aggressive in his attempts to retrieve the ball. In response, Gray put forth further efforts to maintain possession of the ball which resulted in the Jackson player falling on the floor. Jackson's #55 then came off of the bench and assaulted Gray, at this time Coach Messer headed towards Jackson's bench to calm down the situation and seperate the teams. As he headed over to Jackson's bench Coach Messer was assaulted by a Jackson player.

As for the Fleming student section they were outside of the boundaries of the floor. The kids are very aware of what areas they are permitted on, and those they are not. As a matter of fact the Jackson fans began standing on the floor during the fourth quarter and the Fleming student section began chanting to them "Off of the Yellow." The boundary of the Fleming floor is trimmed in about a foot of yellow paint. The kids are aware that they are not even permitted on that area.

I understand that you are passionate about your team and their season, however, I would plan on being more realistic when posting and not exaggerating the facts.

This is one of those games I would love to see. We will never know the whole story unless we saw this one. Would love to see video. Now, I love the Tigers and they are from my region so I side with them most of the time but I will say this. When Lee played at Jackson City there was some what I would call "dirty" things that happened. Particularly the player taunting the Free Throw Shooter during the shots and a player tried to fight with a Lee player, unprovoked from what I could tell. Now, that being said, the game and emotions can run high and I dont think any of these kids are bad kids. They just need to learn to channel that energy on the court. Good luck to the Tigers on the rest of the season.

What a great post. :thumb: Its a shame that some people can't handle things to go their way and have to find lame excuses that weren't even a factor to blame the loss on.

As I mentioned in the predictions on this game, Fleming has an excellent student section. It appears that the student section not only gets in the heads of the players, but the opposing fans as well. Quite impressive for a student section. Keep up the good work "Panther Posse".

It was a great game sounds like how did the other players from jackson fair all we hear about is howard is he the only one tht did anything from the tiger team. Did fugate have an off night? did the press not work? or is the atmosphere what caused the tigers to lose the game and there cool i am a tiger fan through thick and thin and when they go out of region if they dont get ahead by 10-15 pts they have the game taken away from them.
