Zach McCormick, 6'1" Sr - Turpin (OH); committed to Miami (OH) earlier today.

McCormick was rumored to transfer to Dixie a few years ago and played with the Travelers this Summer.

I was a bit surprised by this. I figured if it was an Ohio school it was going to be OU in Athens.

 

Congrats to the kid. Played AAU with Hatton/Barker/McNeil for James Pouncy.

Miami has been in on him for a LONG TIME.

 

Trey Meyer has done an outstanding job recruiting him. I'm sure he is excited to get his guy.

 

Wish the NKY faithful could've gotten a chance to see him play. McCormick + Hatton = multiple region championships, IMO.

Agree on the multiple titles if the move to DH had worked out. If you've never seen Zach play, check him out on youtube. Great kid who attacks the rim at will and will snipe away at you from distance. Always thought he was a better all round player than Snider.

Struggling with his shot. Playing about 15 minutes per game. Scoring about 4 PPG.

That has not proven to be true as Q has done really well for UL.

Not bad minutes for a sophomore with 10 kids older than him on the team. His 3 point % and foul shot % does seem low.

Having coached Zach a good part of his career in AAU I know he wanted to stay close to home for his career but I sure would have liked to have seen him at Tennessee. Miami is struggling bad so hope they get it turned around.
