This was the first time I have seen JBS play and I was very impressed. The Stepp kid and the Cox kid are two of the better players I have seen this year. The Crusaders had a huge loss before the game when their center went down during warm-ups with what looked like a season ending knee injury. Both teams played hard and it should be a great district tournament.

They are 13-7 losing their only regional game to Jenkins. I still can't figure that one out. They revenged that loss by 12 points Thursday. They are looking pretty good even after 4 players (2 starters) quit in the last month. The parity in the 14th is unbelievable.

I didn't notice if the knee went out on him as he was going up or if he came down on it awkwardly. Anyway, it looked very severe.

That's very sad news. He is an impressive player, and a freshman at that. Hopefully it won't be as bad as thought.

Collins was moved to Lexington. He will have to have surgery. He will be out for the rest of this year but will probably be ready to go in a few months. Stepp and Cox played a great game tonight. Don't count them out just yet.

Wow. LCC is a tough team, sounds like JBS played them well. I gotta say, I love these close games ... it's so exciting to watch and really demonstrates how close the fourteenth is this year.

 

I hope the young player's knee is okay and that he comes out of surgery alright. He's in my thoughts. I always hate to see a kid get injured.

Collins being out will really hurt JBS on the defensive end because he changed a lot of shots on D. Their O will be ok with Stepp and Cox but this will hurt them imo.

They did surgery on Collins the morning and he will be back in about 2 months. He won't be able to play the rest of the season, but he will be back 100%. Nothing was involved but a fracture. :thumb: He is in no pain and only worried because he can't play for a while.

Cox had 22 hard earned points last night, Stepp had 16 and made some great plays. When you are all over him, you are leaving someone else open. Thank you all for your prayers and concern.

That's great news! So it was a fracture and not an ACL. The fracture will heal pretty fast and shouldn't have any lasting effects, but an ACL takes a little longer and takes much more rehab.

This kid is a nice player....when we played them he probably had 7 or 8 blocks. He has a wonderful future.
