Gallatin County 3 Collins 2 (8th Region 1st Round)

Featured Replies

I agree. A team as good as Gallatin should play more than 17 games in the regular season. I understand that games get cancelled with weather and all, but Collins scheduled somewhere around 40 games this season knowing that some would get cancelled. Gallatin also plays most of their games against their district opponents, playing them 3 or 4 times a year. I would like to see them maybe get in a few tournaments and play some better teams in the area, because there are plenty of good teams they could play. In my opinion, it does them no good to play some of the teams they face. I'm sure the players would love to play more games in the season too.

Every team should do this, and if you get close to the end of the season and you have had great weather you start letting teams know in advance about the possibilty of not playing. This has been one of the worst springs in my 6 years but we still sat home not playing on at least 15 to 20 nice days where we didn't have games on the schedule.

I think this is AWESOME, but 20 games so far this season for Gallatin is inexcusable IMO. You do your players no justice playing so few games.

Agree, this team should have been entered in tournaments around the state. FarBeyondDriven can correct me but I think the All "A" was the only one they played in. I don't get it.:speechless:

I agree they should play more games with the talent they have, but the core group of the team is is now 55-15 the past 3 seasons and have been successful in the All A and the postseason. I guess my point is when you are 19-1 that goes a long way in believing you can't lose. FBD and I have said they have been on the ropes a lot this season, but they don't flinch. Just last Monday they were 3 outs from their season ending, but they are still surviving and advancing.

True...GC has beating Carrol like 10 times this season (i know not 10) how much confidence can you have with that... with the talent they have there is almost no excuse to not be playing better comp. If money or time is an issue for them they could easily play the Boone county schools, they are probably closer to them than most the schools in there district or region.

Id love to have them on our schedule every year

There are no good resturants in Gallantin so you do not want them on your schedule.

Louisville is not that far away and there are plenty of good teams there.
