Figured we would open up a separate thread for discussion of the movie for those who have seen it.

I saw this last night. If you loved 1 and 2 (like me) you will not like 3. 3 takes a deep dive into developing a plot and characters - in other words, less action - more plot. 1 and 2 were all action, and less plot. There are long, long stretches in 3 where there is nothing going on and it is painful. 1 and 2 were a Tony Stark snarky sophmoric smartass romp- 3 is not. I know this goes against all critical reviews, but the critics only like it now for the same reasons stated above that I hate it.

I loved the twist with the Mandarin. It made the story that much better IMO.

I loved the twist with Mandarin also. The only thing I didn't like about Manderin is they should of made him to have a better accent. The accent just didn't fit his appearance.

I didn't like the ending though, I wouldn't of minded another Iron man in this series.

Me neither. We do still have The Avengers series.

Just a little off topic, they have basically already green lit Iron Man 4. They said it will happen with or without Robert Downey Jr.

I can't imagine he wouldn't want to do it.

I thought Killian was great as well.

Some people were disappointed because the trailers made it seem as if this Iron Man was going to be similar to the Dark Knight, in terms of darkness but it really isn't.

My youngest son is 13 and he hasn't seen the first two Ironmans and he loved this one. I like it now for the same reasons as the critics. I don't need nonstop action to be entertained. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

It isn't that but it's Marvel doesn't want to pay him the money, said it paid him $50 million each for the Avengers and Iron Man 3.

Naw, that darkness is hard to duplicate also. Gotham is just dark all together.

That is steep but he is worth it IMO. He'll be hard to replace. Surely they make enough to give him 50 million.

When Pepper fell into the fire she thought she died but I doubted it since Aldrich had already been through fire and was fine.

I almost thought Pepper was dead but quickly remembered that she was a fire breather also. Really don't know what else to call them.

Loved the addition of the kid.

"My dad went to the 7-11 for scratchers. I guess he won because he never came back."
