FedEx or UPS?

Featured Replies

I'd rather ship by carrier pigeon than UPS. I don't know how many times I've had to trek down to the UPS shipping center to get a package because their drivers left one of those God-forsaken "infonotices" instead. It's an issue I've never had with the PO or FedEx.

The reason for the info notice is because your package required a signature in person. That's on the shipper. It's probably a high value package or else I'd gladly driver release the package.I hope this clears it up for you. The "Big Brown Machine" rolls on.

Fed ex for me, though I Had good drivers from both companies. My company used to do fed ex 2-3 times a week. Often they would ask for signatures, my driver would leave on the door step without me being home. Once I told him it was OK to do so. Also when I scheduled a pick up, he knew he could get it on his way to or from Mason co. So it made his trip easier.

I no longer have accounts with either. I usually use USPS. Never pay for quick delivery from them though. Regular rates get it there just as quick I use the priority package and pay on line. They pick it up at my doorstep.

I did do overnight guaranteed delivery one day. It was a submission for the NCAA lottery. A month later the envelop was returned by NCAA saying did not get it in time. USPS agreed they screwed it up and offered my money back for the postage, Oh boy! Would have rather been entered into the lottery!!!

I also love Amazon and I do a lot of business with them. I had an item that showed up as "delivered" once but I had not received it. I emailed Amazon and they shipped a replacement that I received the next day. When Amazon commits to a delivery date, it often arrives ahead of schedule but almost never a day late.

Amazon Prime is a great value. I do almost all my shopping now with Amazon (aside from food). There aren't many things you can't find cheaper on Amazon, and the free two day shipping seals the deal.

I agree. Even though I can often find the same thing for a little less money locally, when you factor in the time and gas to buy it, Amazon Prime is almost always a better deal. I have also bought quite a few grocery items from Amazon. Eventually, Amazon will be a big player in groceries in major metro areas, IMO. I can see FedEx or UPS building a fleet of refrigerated trucks in the not so distant future.
