2014 10th Region Class A Draw

Interesting way of seeding for the first region to use LIT ratings.

Hate to see this. Wish they were in opposite brackets.

Boy, that is two of us!!!

The first round Brossart-Augusta game is scheduled to be played at 12Noon on Saturday, Janaury 11th.

Campbell County Middle School is PROJECTED to be the site of the tournament and Bishop Brossart will serve as the host school. As TAC stated Brossart boys hosted the event in 2011 and we went all out to make the event a first-class affair. Since it is a Boys/Girls joint venture requiring 16 games to complete and running for seven consecutive days (January 10th through 17th, with Tuesday, January 14th being a dark day and available for make-ups), this will be a monumental effort to come close to duplicating the production we put together at Regents Hall in 2011. As TAC also stated this will be a joint effort between our boys and our girls basketball programs, which will require some sponsoring up to get the job done.

This is the complete 2014 Touchstone Energy Boys/Girls 10th Region All "A" Tournament bracket:

Friday January 10, 2014

Paris vs Calvary Girls 6:30 PM

Paris vs Calvary Boys 8:00 PM

Robertson Co. vs Nicholas Co. Girls 2:00 PM

Robertson Co. vs Nicholas Co. Boys 4:00 PM

Silver Grove vs St. Patrick Girls 6:00 PM

Monday January 13. 2014

Boys: 8:00 PM

Thursday January 16, 2014

Lower Bracket Semifinals

Boys: 8:00 PM

Championship Games:

Friday January 17, 2014

What was the reasoning for doing the tourney concurrently?

I am sure BB will broadcast this game. What about the others?

^ Augusta always broadcasts their games.

Not sure if any other schools have anything like that.

Why I was asking if BB would broadcast them all as they are the host school.

Mustang can answer that question, but that would be awfully hard to do all those games.

Way too early to speculate.

If this is played at the Middle School, as it looks like it will, we have difficulty broadcasting out of there. With 9 months to work on it, we can probably have a phone line installed (at our expense) which would solve our problem.

There is no way that we will be able to do all of them. We did in 2011 when we hosted just the boys tournament at Regents. Off the top of my head my thinking is that we would do all of Brossart's games, (boys and girls) and both semis and finals.

You all do a great job and I will listen to all you have. Thanks!!!!!

The coaches like it. It gets the better teams to the semifinals

With the nature of the makeup of the 10th Region "A" teams, there are usually 2 or 3 true contenders and the rest of the field can be considered underdogs.

In order to implement such a seeding arrangement, it would have to pass via a majority of the participating programs, and it is doubtful that the underdog schools would be so benevolent as to seed the trournament in favor of the top ranked teams.

While the Brossart and Augusta staff and fans are weeping and wailing over this years draw (and perhaps Paris and Bracken County as well), there are four programs who couldn't be happier about it. Robertson County (Deming), St. Patrick, Silver Grove, or Nicholas County are going to play in the championship game this year with a chance to win a game and go play in the "A" State Tournament. While it is highly likely that they will be big underdogs to whoever emerges from the top bracket, being the 10th Region "A" Runners-up will denote major progress in their programs. If we all beat each other up in the upper bracket so much the better for the lower bracket teams.

So, while this year's brackets seem to be a bit lopsided, I wouldn't expect to see everyone climbing on the seeding ship just to make a few extra bucks of share money, or to lend to the overall "excitement" of the tournament.

^^^

I understand.

The 1st region has always seeded. It is also pretty balanced where usually 3-6 teams have a shot to win it.
