Goliath Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Ashland's freshmen teams improves to 14-2 on the season. Another stellar performance by the well balanced tomcats. The tomcats were led in tonight's game by Burns with 14. Good luck the rest of the year!
AshlandTomcat41 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I was really surprised at the score of this one. Ashland played really well, it seemed like everyone contributed, and there isnt much drop off from the starters to the reserves. Russell just had no answer for Ashland's press.

There aren't any scrubs on Ashlands team, all eight of them can play. The exact same thing happened the first time, Russell broke down against Ashlands press. The freshman Tomcats have a big game on Thursday against the Ironton Tigers of Ohio.
BigDawgOnCampus Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Are there any freshmen on either team that plays up on JV or Varsity that was not there tonight? Would that have made ANY difference in the outcome of this game. It seems that with that lopsided of a score, that nothing would really have changed the outcome, but just a thought?

Ryan Bonner, a 6'3 freshman hasen't played with the freshman the whole year, and Matt Rowe has been dressing with the JV lately.. He has played with the JV and Varsity. The Freshman Tomcats have an interesting system about playing JV. Every time the varsity and JV play, two of the players on the freshman team will dress with the JV, and it rotates every game.
BigDawgOnCampus Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 So, needless to say it could have been a lot worst than the score showed huh? Thanks for your reply pack.
Powerhouse Cats Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 So, needless to say it could have been a lot worst than the score showed huh? Thanks for your reply pack. Yes it could have. Bonner would have been a big help to the Tomcats, but he deserves to be playing up. Ashland also layed off on the press for most of the second half.
Powerhouse Cats Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Who plays for the Freshmen team? Matt Rowe, Stephen Burns, Daniel McDavid, Cody Bowling, John Baldock, Blake McLeod, Cody Plank, and Matt Handy.
Graybeard Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Congratulations!! This sounds like a good group of freshmen.
Goliath Posted January 31, 2006 Author Posted January 31, 2006 Indeed it is a good group of freshmen. The future could be bright for Ashland in a few years.
Nets Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Morgan's freshman are undefeated the past two years.
Uncle Jed Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I would like to see Ashland's freshman play Rose Hill's 8th grade.
Goliath Posted January 31, 2006 Author Posted January 31, 2006 I would like to see Ashland's freshman play Rose Hill's 8th grade. And by that i assume you mean players that have all been held back a grade to play basketball, like Euton.
