CovCath @ Campbell Co. Predictions (1/31)

Featured Replies

The battle for Northern KY "CCHS" surpremacy takes place in Campbell Co. on Tuesday night. Can CovCath recover from their two game losing streak and get back on the right track? Can the Camels build off the momentum of their nice win over Scott to stay hot at home.

Im not sure about who is going to win. Both teams are up right now. Playing at Campbell will make a big difference!

Both teams are up right now.

Not to split hairs, but I would say CovCath is far from "up" right now. They are 3-3 in their last 6 games, and all 3 wins could be termed "lackluster." The good news is, I don't think the Colonels have played their best basketball yet, however, with only 8 games left in the regular season, they best not put off hitting their stride too much longer.

The camels are the same way get on winning streaks and then lose some.Should be a good game but CovCath should come out on top.

CovCath has went 3-3 in their past 6 games. That true, but against who. The three losses come against Highlands, Holmes, and Lex Cath. All by a combined total of 9 points if I'm correct. All 3 teams ranked in the top 20 of the state. They haven't played great, and can definetly play better. But over those 6 games, they have found out a few things.

1. They do have a decent big man who can score in Danny Noll.

2. Timmy can't turn the ball over like he did in the past two games. If he does CovCath can't expect to win.

3. Joey Landrum has to be part of the offense for some part of the game to relieve TJ and Tim and Bo.

Cov Cath, not close...

CovCath hasn't played to their potential recently, but the level of competition may have had a lot ot do with that, and they have quite a few quality wins on a very tough schedule. Win Streaks?? Campbell's lone win streak (3) came against Silver Grove, Calvary, and Ludlow to open the season. Since then they've had four one game win streaks, but could make it two in a row tomorrow. I like CCH by 10+!!

According to the movie Major League the manager of the Indians says that "if we win tomorrow thats called TWO IN A ROW. If we win again the next day thats what we like to call a WIN STREAK"

And I agree.

Great quote from a true "classic"!!

CCH plays to the level of their opponents, whether the opposition is better or worse. Last year was the same case in a few games but TJ stepped up and hit some big shots (HC, Holmes, Boone). CCH by 7.

So your telling me that CCH plays to the level of competition they are playing, WHETHER THE OPPOSITION IS BETTER OR WORSE?????

What about.....

Ashland 51pt win

Conner 30 pt win

St Henry 17pt win

Lafayette (top 20 AP team)

Elder (lost by 17 @ the Pitt. Elder is now #1 in the state)

NkyBoy, since I see you at virtually every game I know you're there -- you can't tell me you think they have been playing good basketball since the Elder game? You can hang your hat on Elder being #1 in Ohio all day long, but even Elder folks know that is a joke. There are 3 or 4 D-1 teams in Cincy better than them, and I won't even insult you by mentioning National Top 10 Canton McKinley. The Colonels haven't been playing very well lately, for many reasons, most of which involve young people so you won't see them in my posts.

CCH5432 is probably referring to the legions of games this year against teams that CCH should beat handily that had you on the edge of your bench seat late in the 4th. It's easy to cherry-pick 3 blow-out wins over a 17 game schedule, however you know darn well he is correct and there are 5-8 games that were much closer than they should have been.

CCH has a difficult stretch upcoming (@ Camels, @ SK, NCC [playing better of late], Scott, and Scott Co.), and if they don't get a few things ironed out, they could be in for a long February.

Like I said much earlier, I don't believe they have peaked yet, and hopefully Coach L can coach them up and get them to be hitting their stride come March.

This should be a really good game and I expect with home court avantage, that the Camels will come out on top.

So your telling me that CCH plays to the level of competition they are playing, WHETHER THE OPPOSITION IS BETTER OR WORSE?????

I meant more as of late, you are correct about Ashland, Conner, and St. Henry. But I mean since the Elder game, you have games against teams that they should have beat by more going down to the late 4th quarter (Calloway Co. in the 5/3rd, Boone Co., Dixie), and teams that they stuck around with that are ranked higher than them in every poll (Highlands, LexCath, Holmes).
