The Louisville magic 16u are 2-0 on the day at the elite youth basketball classic in Atlanta,GA. They just beat southern stampede by 15. Beat team out of north Carolina first game. Play tomorrow morning and if they win that they will be in championship

How did the 17s do?

We got beat in the semi-finals by the CP3 allstars. They were loaded. Had the #1 freshmen in the nation, Harry Giles. E1T1 ELITE won the championship for 16u. The 17's got beat in their second game against Team Breakdown. CP3 all stars won 17u championship, lead by Theo Pinson. Top 5 player. 15u Louisville Magic won the championship at the Tip off classic in Indiana. That team is loaded!! Word is Colton Elkins dominated. Heard from several people he was best player at tournament

Wow, good for Elkins (though not good for us at Mercer I suppose ?).We played CP3 (their team that is the grade below u guys, of course) last year in the Hampton, VA tourney. That team was really good.. Played E1T1 at nationals year before last. Two very good programs, obviously. Good competition.

 

We (HD 15U) play in a tourney in Cincy this weekend. Don't know several of the teams but our first game is against the Cincy Lakers. Generally a very good team, at least in our age group. Will wont get to play due to a shoulder injury.

The magic are going to Pittsburgh to play in the Pitt Jam Fest. Very big tournament. Certified event. Kids should get some good exposure. Hagens team (16u) picked up the matlock kid from hoptown. What happened to will's shoulder?? Hope it is nothing serious

glad his shoulder was nothing serious and he is back playing. congrats on the wins in cincy. magic 16u play friday night at pitt jam fest against VA ELITE. the 17's play DC Assault friday night also. from what i was told the 16u picked up jacob conway from lincoln. im not sure if it is just for the pitt jam fest or if he is joining for good. you can look at the bracket for the jam fest and everything else you need to know about the event at hoopgroup.com. ( you can google pitt jam fest and click on the first header ).

Last I was told is that Jacob Conway is still a member of Young Life and that he was just getting some extra run in while Young Life was off that weekend. He is expected to be with Young Life when they are scheduled to play. I hope he stays with who he committed to.

I don't agree with players being able to skip around from team to team. I assumed Conway was just wanting extra court time and he was committed to young life. I think kids should have to stay on the team they started with for the whole summer.

 

Welcome to the Dark side of AAU basketball. Very little loyalty between coaches and players. Kids always looking for the best deal, coaches always looking for a better player. I've seen AAU coaches come right up to kids on other teams and try and get them to switch.

AAU as a whole, yes, I agree with you. However, there are a few organizations out there who work to, and want to, keep the players they had from the year before. Sometimes it is the player that wants out. Also, I have seen where players just up and leave a team hanging as they decide to quit.
