Purdue?

It's an old school Louisville fan inside joke. The cheerleaders would have signs at each game, one that said "BEAT" and another that said the name of the opposition ("PURDUE" for example) and they would hold them up for ths crowd to chant "Beat... School!" Anyway, one time they accidentally held up the sign for Purdue when we were playing another team, so the joke is to say "Beat Purdue" no matter who we're actually playing.

But it does nothing to add to the argument that U of L is better than Kentucky was last year. UK had a better record, beat better teams in the tourney, and actually won the championship something U of L has not done yet. Lest we forget, UK won 3 rematch games during their tourney run, two against rivals.

A Louisville fan stating that this team is better than last year's UK team has lost touch with reality. UK was better at every position other than PG and if you look at NBA potential, even that would be a stretch. People forget how close UK was to being undefeated last year and being remembered as one of the all-time greats.

One guy went out an make a statement out of his you-know-what. Others have said this year's UL team would perform better than last year's team and I agree. UK would however win probably 8 out of 10 games. Dieng has really improved this year, as well as Russ, but UK was just too big last year at all five positions.

No need to get worked up over one game making a ridiculous statement; that rule should apply to all teams. We all know UK fans are well known for making some off-the-wall comments as well.

Did I say that all Uof L fans made that statement?
