What about Eric Goetz? I know he wants a public school job but this is a perfect opportunity for him to coach a regional contender. Not sure what the pay is like but never the less I feel like he would want this job. I am sure there are postseason benefits too.

Fair question. I'm just saying that despite some online reports it's not a done deal. Obviously, the rumors are out there.

Dawn is the only guy who can win a regional title down there.

I'm told NC can hire a coach without any wait if the person is also not applying for a teacher position. Board policy would dictate the wait requirement.

Newcath would never hire Erik Goetz. Just my opinion.

 

Goetz developed Antonio Campbell into one of the best Bigs in the state. Personally I would take him over Derek Willis 8 out of 10 times. He can develop Drew McDonald into another Antonio Campbell, maybe even better.

I do wonder if the quality of returning players (ie a team that can win the 9th) will have an impact on who NCC brings back. That would be a reason to bring Ron back even though he could never be viewed as a long-term solution. ( I say that despite the fact the cat looks like he can still get out there and run with the boys).

I agree, Ron is a stud!

Last time Ron was on the sidelines for the NCC boys they were led to the state tournament by his son... don't look now, but his grandson Steven Pangallo is a seventh grader with a big future in front of him.... certainly seems like a good fit, but I have to wonder... is Jimmy Pangallo interested in the head job?

Forget about Goetz. He's not getting the job at NCC. He couldn't beat them when he had his chances anyway.
