PurpleHaze
Believe it or not, BGHS had a 26 game winless streak (not losing streak) from 1956 through 1958. The losing streaks were interrupted by two ties with Glasgow, so their record during that streak was 0-24-2. The streak began in the first game of the 1956 season and ended with a 19-12 win over Franklin-Simpson in 1958. The Head Coach for BGHS in 1957 and 1958 was Clarence Caple, who left after the 1958 season and founded Larue County's varsity program. He was replaced with Jim Pickens, who won KY Coach of the Year in 1958 at Danville. After seriously thinking about disbanding the football program during that dark time, the Purples went 8-2-1 in 1959 under Pickens, then 8-3-0 with the WKC Championship in 1960!
