NCC 60 St. Henry 48

Featured Replies

In the first half Keirnan was a beast and St. Henry couldn't stop him. But then in the second half he picked up two quick fouls and that gave him 4 for he game. He sat, but St. Henry couldn't take advantage of him on the bench. It seemed NCC might have played better when he went out. NCC stepped up when they had too.

What time was this game? I ask because it sounds like you were there YET I saw you at the CCH game.

That statement can be made about 2 of the 3 (Beechwood, Holy Cross & Newport) in the lower bracket as well.

Any 3 of those teams would love to go to the other side of the bracket because there is no doubt that it is a lot easier to get to the finals on that side then the one those 3 are on. Those 3 are the best 3 teams in the tourney and are all on the same side. So i dunno how that comment makes sense.

So i dunno how that comment makes sense.

The comment is "tongue in cheek" and is logical as well. Come Friday night about 10:00 it can be said that 2 of those three teams in the lower bracket were not good enough to advance to the finals either. :D

I agree that the top bracket was easier to advance through than the lower bracket and that Beechwood and HC have consistently been better than either NCC or St. Henry. Newport at times has been better as well but still needs to find the consistency to advance.

Are the Finals at Newport High on Saturday night? If so how much does that gym hold and what kind of crowd is expected?

The Newport gym is big enough I believe to hold all that will show up. Either Holy Cross vs NCC or Newport vs NCC or Beechwood vs NCC would bring out the biggest crowds. Finals are Saturday at 7:00. Friday's semi-final crowd might be bigger in total with the two games and four teams.

Newport has 2100 capacity, as All Play states plenty to hold the crowd. So come on out.

Thanks-Ill be coming down.Since you guys are familiar with the 9th region I Would like to hear your picks.

HC and Beechwood will meet tomorrow. Thats my pick.

I think HC is a little better team than Beechwood but not by much. This game is a toss up and should be fun to see. Newport is quite capable of beating anyone in the tournament but has lacked consistency to pick three nights in a row. I would predict a Holy Cross vs. NCC final but would not be surprised to see Beechwood play on Saturday night and only mildly surprised to see the Wildcats there. I think HC and Beechwood are also slightly better than NCC (with Newport being about equal) but the Breds have an easier road and should be well rested.

I would take HC over NCC in finals

I would take NCC over Beechwood or Newport in the finals

Great tournament this year

Just to check in with you CShs81, Being fan of high school basketball that I am. The St. Henry vs. NCC game was at 6pm and the Holmes game was at 7:30 (got started closer to 8pm). YET, this allowed me to see my beloved Crusaders fight hard, but come up short in the All A and to watch Timmy and the Colonels do the same vs. Holmes. So to answer, yes I was at BOTH games.

The semi-finals and finals are being broadcasted on NorthernKentuckySports.com in case you can't make it down to Newport's gym

The gym is one of the bigger ones in the 9th Region All A. I've seen it sell out for the Finals but not all the time.

bellevue will probably win the all A

If they had that mchale kid they would probably be undefeated
