I never

said it decided the game. However, 2 free throws and the ball back with seven seconds to play sure is a lot better than going the length of the

floor. I would take my chances to get a steal on that full court inbound play any day.

There were only 4.5 seconds left and without the T GC still had to foul twice to get WV to the line. There is always a slim chance of a steal on the inbounds, but I wouldn't count on it against a well coached team like WV.

Especially with two 6 footers to lob it up to on the inbounds.

There may have been a slim chance of a steal on the inbounds but Walton turned it over a few seconds earlier when they couldn't inbounds it by the Gallatin bench. Anything could have happened.

Isn't that what my post said? Any steal on inbounds has a slim chance of happening. Sandlin could have missed the free throws, but she didn't.

We can debate all day as to whether the technical foul had a bearing on the outcome.

The bottom line is the last 5 seconds of a great high school basketball game was marred by a controversy that could have been avoided.

Should.

They would have lobbed it up to one of the six footers.

Great game to watch. I thought Gallatin did a very good job of making Walton play the way they wanted them to for most of the game. This one could have easily gone either way. There was a ton of talent on the floor last night and made for some great basketball.

I am not certain that the head coach would have gotten one in this case, the whole gym saw the timeout being called and how the ref missed it is beyond me. However, the second the Asst. Coach started addressing the ref in that manner it had to be given. Did the "T" play a factor, I think slightly, anything could have happened on the upcoming inbound.

If the assistant had not got a technical, the head coach should've have gotten one because they were both way out of the coaches box and screaming at the official. The official showed good poise in just observing them and then making the obvious call.

I have to disagree. If the official had poise, he would have heard the head coach requesting the TO, instead of "watching" the game. Yes, the T was deserved based on the rules, but the butt chewing the official received was well desrved also.
