Final from Walton. Great game in front of a huge crowd. Big time plays down the stretch from both sides.

That had to be a very interesting game with Waltons size and the speed of Gallatin. Any details?

Walton didn't use their size at all. I don't have the numbers but I am guessing that Walton shot more 3's than Gallatin. I was amazed at how many 3's they threw up there. It was like they were playing into Gallatin's hand. They did get the ball down low to Judy during the final 4 minutes and Gallatin couldn't stop her. Sandlin got 2 quick fouls in the 1st quarter and never really got on track. The Dossett girls played their hearts out and were tough to stop. The final seconds were crazy with Gallatin's assistant coach being given a technical for coming on the floor arguing with the officials. It was a fun game to watch and both teams can make some noise in the regional tournament. Maybe we can see Part 2 in a couple of weeks. Good luck to both teams.

With the score tied at 38 early in the 4th quarter, Brooke Dossett's 3 pointer gave Gallatin a 41-38 lead. Walton-Verona then scored 9 straight to take a 47-41 lead.

Brooke Dossett's 3 point play and a long 3 pointer by Hannah Dossett knotted the contest at 47. After both teams exchanged baskets, Michelle Judy hit 2 foul shots with around 35 seconds left for a 51-49 lead. Gallatin had a shot to tie, but a 15 footer missed the mark with about 6-7 seconds left.

Great game to watch. The GC coaching staff was very upset with not getting a timeout after yelling for it three times with the ball while the lead official was close to the GC bench, ignoring the request.
WV was 5 for 24 from beyond the arc.

WOW! I knew they shot alot. Not sure why they did that when they had the superior size advantage against Gallatin. 21% from behind the arc isn't burning up the nets. I wonder how many 3's Gallatin shot?

Gallatin hit 6 (Hannah 4, Brooke 2). I could be wrong, but I don't think they shot any more than 12. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Exciting game to watch. It was like a boxing match with both teams taking the opponents punch and bouncing up and throwing another. The kids played with emotion and left everything on the floor. There was a lot of talent on that floor tonight. Good luck to both teams the remainder of the season.

2 controversial timeouts toward the end of this one. Walton gets granted a timeout with a little over a minute left while one official is calling a travel. Then, GC doesn't get one when they are asking for it and they end up taking a poor shot. Tough to take considering it was basically a 1 possession game?

The official was actually calling the player being out of bounds, and yes, it happened before the timeout was called.
GC hit 6 of 11 three pointers.

Role reversal: the perimeter guard oriented team shoots 11 and the bigs shoot 24. Go figure.

Contrary to popular belief, Gallatin does not live and die by the three.

Well, it seemed to me that WV guarded the perimeter tightly, but GC can get to the rim as well as anybody.
