WHERE it bounces is of no significance. THAT it bounces is what matters. A "shot" ends when the ball touches the floor so it cannot ever be counted as a 3 if it bounces.

Also, if it was released before the buzzer, but bounced after the buzzer would it not count?

You would not count it in either case.

 

The try ended when the ball hit the floor. The only way a basket can count after the horn is if the try has not ended.

Let's take this to a super-weird hypothetical 'nother level. What if ... the shooter is fouled in the act, the whistle blows and the players come to a halt, and then ball bounces and goes in??? What about that one? Then you would have a three-point shooting foul that was called, followed by the ball going in the basket after the bounce. Since truth is stranger than fiction, and the highly unlikely can and does occasionally happen, what would be the rulling in the scenario? (I have no idea on this one, to be honest, but I just got to wondering.)

Once the ball hit the floor, the 3pt shot is dead so I would assume you would have a 3 Free Throws. The ball hitting the floor and going in is nothing.
