OK, I am going to word this a little differently. There was NO KSCA vote for the top players or teams. Your blame is misdirected.

 

Ok, I have no idea who did the poll and my blame is about softball in general...Would boys basketball ever have a top players in the area list and not have the likes of Brandon Hatton or Antonio Campbell or maybe a football list with out Drew Baker. The answer is NO, so why does it happen in softball are people just dumb do they have their own agenda or do they just not pay attention. Some of the girls in this area are even or ahead of those compared to their sports and they are left off.

I Know Conner voted for smith. Haley is one of the best players in NKY. I am not sure on Moran. She has never actually played in a game versus the cougars.

Yes Moran has played against Connor in the past and done very well. One game she even caught and did very well, she has only caught a couple of times. If she decided not to vote for Moran I would be fine with that. Not to vote for Smith is just dumb. You say she voted for her and I take your word for it.

Last year in the 10th Region, the postseason revealed more parity than in previous years. I suspect more of the same in 2013.

As BGH said, the rankings are just fodder for message boards. I know there's not 7 players in the 16th better than McKenzie Vanover. She's top 2 or 3 for sure.

The region 2 team rankings look just like the order that a coach predicted back in December. I think Region 2 is pretty close teams 1-6 could be in any order gonna be close this year.

 

Livingston Central - returns almost everyone from last years team

Christian Co- lost lot several from last year team that went to state but still has 1 of the top players in the state. Going pitch a Fr

Henderson- Only lost 1 player on last years regional runner up team

North- Lost our SR pitcher and Catcher. Gonna be young but talented. So. and 8th pitcher that has done very well in travelball

Central- lost few from last year. Gonna be led by Sr Mcnary, Gordan (P), & Jr Tow

Union- the sleeper this year could easly be the top team in the region

UHA- young and talented....needing someone to step up pitching

This is what little I know about it. The gentleman that runs the website is a newspaper writer in Corbin. I think he probably does most of Southeastern KY himself and relies on other people throughout the state. They may have a vote as they did in the 6th or someone he knows may just put a list together for him. He is one of the few people that actually does anything for girls softball in the state. What he does may not be accurate, but what is? Northern KY has always been bad about weekly rankings and all-state voting, probably because very few of the coaches feel they have teams and players worthy. Not really a good excuse, but it is what it is. Check back through the lists of all-state players from the past and you will see very little NKY representation compared with the rest of the state.
