It's go time!!

How many schools are actually starting today? I know of a few that are starting Saturday, but nothing today. Seems like a wasted day for evaluating players.

Haven't most teams been having workouts for the past month or so? I think this is actually a better way to do it.........more views gives you a better idea of talent...IMO.

CCH officially starts tryouts on Tuesday due to the holiday and Senior Retreat this weekend....

Most schools have had unofficial workouts for a while now. Now it becomes required. Not as much of an issue with Varsity and probably JV, but seeing the freshman for the first time most likely. Would think you would want to have as many practices within this first week as possible and make cuts sooner than later since most schools will start in 3 weeks from Monday! Want to have as much time working with the players that have made the team as possible. IMO

They have had "conditioning" that doesn't mean after their weight room workouts they haven't been throwing the ball around in the gym or parking lot. Not a lot of outside work could be done.

Now they have (i believe) 10 days of tryouts. There isn't a lot you can see in 10 days and the coaches already have a pretty good idea who is on what teams etc. but for the younger players MS, 9th graders this is the time they really need to show what they can do. It's always a disadvantage for the younger kids because it's the first time the coaches get to see them and have to make a decision in a very short time.

Today was the first day of tryouts for Scott.

I'm getting cabin fever and am so ready for the boys to hit the fields for games!!!

I agree..

For me it means warm weather is on it's way!
