Brent had 32 and I don't know about the rest of the box score info. I can also report Brent missed 8 free throws tonight, maybe 10 but we obviously couldn't guard them at all. That was the difference in the game.

The missed free throws are out of character for him, but he will be fine.

 

I honestly thought Newport would win this one, being that it was in Newport. But I did think it would be a 3-5 point game.

As stated in the predictions thread, I thought that perhaps Newport had too many athletes for the Panthers in this one, which appears to be the case.

 

Newport has been playing excellent basketball of late, as evidenced by their upset of Holy Cross and competitve matchup with NCC in the "A" finals.

 

My heart was hoping for the Panthers, but my head said Newport.

Newport is the Jekyl and Hyde of the 9th Region. Like a box of chocolates if you will.

 

They will be a tough out for their district opponents as well as Region if they advance.
