January 23, 201313 yr I have heard nothing in regards to a grey shirt offer. Sounds like the initial report was incorrect.
January 23, 201313 yr Author OSU announced today that 2 players will not be returning next year so a few more scholarships were freed up. Makes sense with the timing of the Timmons offer.

Do not know who came up with the Gray shirt business, But man false information is annoying. Believe it or not Timmons is pretty good, and OSU did in fact offer him!:thumb:
January 25, 201313 yr Author I have never doubted his talent. The numbers he put up this past year are mind boggling. Any team will be lucky to have him. I think he fits WR/H-back/play maker roll that OSU is trying to fill.

January 25, 201313 yr If this doesn't show anything else it shows how big of a gap there truly is between the national powers, and teams such as UK. You have OSU waiting until a couple more scholarships become available before you really get serious and offer the kid, while a team like Kentucky is salivating at the chance of landing his services. Basically what I'm saying is it proves a school like OSU will be alright regardless of whether they get a kid like Timmons or not, while on the otherhand Kentucky is almost desperate to get someone that talented. A talent that Kentucky highly covets is only a guy school's like OSU and other big dogs can say well what do you think do we want this kid or not?

You're saying Ohio State's football program is a lot stronger than UK's?
January 25, 201313 yr Let me make sure I'm following. You're saying Ohio State's football program is a lot stronger than UK's? Obviously, but this really illustrates how big of a gap it really is between the football powers and the other BCS schools. Someone Kentucky would die to have is someone a lot of these school's have to think really hard about wheteher they even offer them a scholarship or not. To Kentucky fans someone with the skill of Ryan Timmons is a football messiah, to OSU he's just another recruit.
