Cooper got Conner earlier in the season.

 

Conner is playing fairly well.

 

Cooper has to be the favorite but if Conner can hit outside shots it will be interesting.

I will go with Cooper 65-53. Supposed to have some snow roll through around 3pm so I hope it gets played tonight.

I expect a very good game tonight. Conner won 3 of the 4 qtrs in the first meeting, however, they got down 20+ points in the 1st qtr and could never recover. Hence, a good start is important for them. Barker did not play in the 1st game, so that should help Conner. I think this game will be decided on the boards. Whoever controls the glass will have a huge advantage IMO.

I am expecting a close game. Barker didn't play in the first game. I understand that the Conner students and the principal have made up and the students should turn out big tonight. I hope the weather doesn't hamper attendance. This is high school basketball at its best.

It will all depend on if the Bigs of Cooper show up and play the way they are fully capable of playing. The Jaguar guard play has been very solid of late so if that continues and the Bigs play at a high level I look for Cooper to take control early. Barker will help but if the Jags are hitting on all cylinders (which admittedly they haven't done much of this year consistently) this one will be tough for Conner.

 

However, if it takes forever for Cooper to "wake-up" as Coach Sully puts it, this one will turn out to be a close one with either team taking it. Conner vs. Cooper has developed into a very good rivalry on the field and on the court.

I have only seen Conner play a few times this season, but they seem to be at their best when they aren't force feeding the post on every possession. The key is good guard play, but it seems to me that the guards have been pulled out for not feeding the post and taking open shots on occasion. I think this has hindered their development as a unit a little bit. It sounded as if they opened up their offense a little bit against Ryle and finally knocked down some three balls. This will help open up the inside game. In the little game action I have seen of Conner, one of their biggest flaws was their one dimensional offensive game. Sounds like that is improving. Good luck to both teams tonight. Should be a good one.

Cooper dominated from the opening tip and the were up double digits before Conner put their first points on the board.

Was glad to see #10 for Conner Will Rueholt have a good game. When he is on he can shoot from anywhere. Cooper was without Spencer holland due to illness but didn't miss a beat without him. Good game from start to finish by the Jags. Congrats on a good win Cooper, now if they can win Fri against Ryle they lock up the #1 seed.
