Good win for Lee. Wanted to go but didnt risk the ticket issue & more relevant to have jackson & lee fans present. Should these facility and ticket issues be addressed by the all "a". Was there an even split of tickets for lee and jackson fans or was this completely in jackson city's hands??? tickets are hard to come by for a regional tourny or state tourny & districts but seems odd for a first round all a game.

If it hasn't changed since last year, the host school in the first two rounds get to keep all the gate reciepts. Some of the first round games don't generate much money anyway.....not all the games usually have the magnitude of the Lee-Jackson game. Teams were sometimes sending checks to the visiting schools of $10 or $12, and that became ridiculous. It was scraped after a few years. The semifinals are different, though, the four teams that advance to Sherman Neace will get a percentage of the gate, with the host school getting 15% off the top to help pay for workers and security. I don't know who the host school for the semifinals is this year, maybe Buckhorn.

I listened to this game and it was a good one. It was even except for the beginning of the game when Lee jumped ahead. After that the two teams were very even. Missed free throws late helped Jackson get closer. Great game. The second round should be just as good with JBS @Owsley, Cordia @Buckhorn, Jenkins @Lee, and Hazard @Wolfe. The all a this year is very competitive.

Lee played well. Jackson just could not get the 2 foot jumper to fall. They were like 2 for 14 at the half on the 2 foot jumper. The second half they done a little better hitting like 4 for 10 or so on the 2 foot jumper. I don't know if it was the lighting or the wind was a factor or what but we just couldn't get anything to go down from 2 feet. If Jackson shoots 50% from the 2 foot range, they win the game by 8 or 10. Good win for Lee, Jackson is going to have to knock it down from 2 to beat anyone. :mad:

Jackson did have problems getting shots to fall, especially Howard. His pull-up jumpers were just off target. Poorest shooting performance that I've saw from him. I think that he is a great kid all around but maybe the 9 day lay off for JCS contributed to their play.

 

I also think that Lee did a really good job contesting those easy shots. Howard would elevate and there was almost always a hand right there- maybe he isn't used to having people jump with him.

 

In fact, Fetters from Lee jumps as well as anyone around and just may be the most under-rated player in this region. Great defender, quick, good shooter and shot blocker and rebounds well too.
