Rumor has it the Lady Birds are getting a new home to be in place for the 2014 season. Off campus and working with the community to provide a super venue for the girls to play. Preliminary plans are for enclosed dugouts, concession stand and press box. Awesome for the girls!!! New coach Rob Coffey has them working hard this off season and building an attitude toward winning.

The new field location is Winkler Field (lower Woodfill) the city has commited some resources to help build a softball only field and the Softball Parents Association is working on fundraisors to help with the costs. They are holding a Bourbon and Wine Tasting event at the Syndicate on Feb 15th to start raising funds. The girls will be getting tickets out to sell shortly.

Birds are heading in the right direction. They should have a very soild team for the next several years. They have a young team (no Sr and couple of Jr), I think they will suprise some teams this year and a new field will only help them in the future.

The Birds have some big-time support from the community as they just had a huge turnout for friday Night's Queen of the Diamonds fundraiser at Gangstas Piano Bar. Alot of money raised to help get the field ready dir the spring.

The new facility at Winkler park will be another Gem to add to the City's already unbelievable collection of recently renovated parks. If anybody is wondering what it will be like, I would venture to say it will be like the fields at Rossford park in the North end of town. Ron Dill along with many hard working administrators have made it once again nice to visit one of our awesome parks in Ft Thomas. Can't wait!:ylsuper:

I think this is awesome for the girls in the future maybe alphabet soup wasnt to crazy after all.

Yeah same location! I think Alphabet Soup wanted it there so he could walk to the games.....South side Strong side! New elementary school and a soon to be brand new Park structure, it may now be time for me to start thinking on building on our property. I could build an elevated "Beer Garden" high atop the Left field fence and call it the new and improved "Birds Nest"
