Taylor Swift question

Featured Replies

Not that Jimmy Buffett has much need to further his celebrity...but all he would need to do is put on a stetson hat and put out one song and he'd undoubtedly make several million dollars and win a CMA for Artist Of The Year.

Just as Darius Rucker has done

I don't know that those are really comparable. Sure, Hootie enjoyed some large-scale success, but it was just short-term, the way Alanis Morissette's was. Buffett has been a star for a long time.

(And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go puke, as I just realized I was defending the wholly awful Jimmy Buffett.)

I am not snobbish or jealous, I just don't care for Taylor Swift. I will say this though, I can listen to her more easily than I can look at her. Bless her heart, she is not attractive.

Agreed, I don't find her attractive at all. A little too alien-esque for me.

With that said, she does seem to be growing into her body.

Well, somebody likes her because she sure does sell a lot of records. And sells out every concert. Must be doing something right.

5 to 15 year old girls. Nobody said she wasn't making big money. Still awful though. JMO

I really think people need to give her a break. She is young, attractive and, despite what other people say, talented. I have not bought any of her cd's, but I have seen her at the CMA Festival in Nashville, and she was entertaining. A lot of people get a snobbish attitude when it comes to Taylor Swift and country music, in general. Some people are jealous of her success. To answer to question that started this thread, she started out Country, crossed over to Pop and is basically a hybrid. And if I had a child, I would much rather they like Taylor Swift than some rapper.

Totally disagree.

Her music is not what I consider country.

Then again nothing that is considered "country" these days is what I consider country. It's pop-country.
