George Rogers Clark 57 Bourbon County 56

I hated that I had to miss this game, but was out of town for a funeral. Hey, I will take a 1 point win. As stated above, these GRC players are so young and NO varsity experience. Heck we don't even have a JV and Varsity team, it is just one team, same kids dress and play JV and Varsity. Also when we get Roberts back in January will be a big help. Not just his scoring but senior leadership. The kids play with so much heart and as stated are very scrappy. I love to watch them play. Yes we are taking some lumps this year, but come tourney time, we could make some noise.

Schedule is brutal this year too. Next game is Woodford Co which is hot right now and a big surprise in the 11th. Then winner/looser will face the winner looser of Scott Co / Dunbar matchup.

GRC isn't suiting up Preston Knowles, Vinny Zollo, any Stenzels, etc... anymore.

Their uniforms don't even fit them this season. No more 6-5 (and up) guys in the starting lineup or on the bench. They have two close wins over Paris and Bourbon County. Going to be a long year in Winchester. They just aren't the same Clark County team they have been for recent years.

But we've been brainwashed in the 10th that tradition never graduates and much is to be expected of reigning champions :)

I mean what would J. Fraysure say?

:laugh:Tradition doesn't graduate, but talent does. Also some would say that the team that won the region the year before should be ranked #1 the next year.....can you imagine that this year......:D Personally I thought that was insane and still do. Never heard any GRC fans post such hogwash. .....:walk:

They have had a great run. A great year for a young GRC would be to avoid Montgomery in the district tournament and get into the region.

This should happen. We have beaten both Paris and Bourbon....we only play them once. MoCo twice and not sure if the last game was the district game or not. Looks like GRC will finish 2nd in the seedings. Will have to wait and see how Paris and Bourbon finish in the seedings. Cards really need to improve before post season, or it could be a fight to return to the region.

Looks like a 1 horse race in District 40 this year.

Play Paris and Bourbon both twice this year Goldie. That also changed when Zollo, Stenzel, and company left.

^ That is correct. MoCo, Bourbon and Paris appear twice each on Clark County's schedule this season. Which games are figured into district seeding, I do not know.

Hopefully we'll see more of this as the season goes on in reply to Gillispie.
