Mason County 63 East Carter 62

Royals steal one on the road as Greenhill hits a game-winning trey at the buzzer.

East Carter played very well against Shelby Valley in the BC Classic and it appears they are starting to hit a stride. Sounds like a great game.

According to Danny Weddle's Twitter, the Raiders shot 11-33 from the FT line, including 4-14 in the fourth quarter.

Sounds like East gave this game away at the charity stripe.

I really don't understand when Mason goes to the 16th region and a game every once in a while it seems like the fix is in. Mason played Ashland a couple years back and the same thing happened. It seems like everytime Mason plays in the 16th, the one same official does the game. Last night, Mason was clearly the inside take it to the basket vs. East Carter who shot the three every open shot. Fouls usually occur when teams attack the basket. Fouls last night were 24 to 8 with the free throw shooting 33 to 5. (16-0 First half). Luckly for Mason, East only made 11. Mason had a chance to tie the game with a few seconds left but before a shot cold be put up, a screening fouls was called on Mason. Next, possession Mason scores a two and East does not pick the ball up to in bounds and the refs just let about 5 seconds run off. Then Mason is down two and they call a fouls before the ball is thrown in. Mason played Boyd Saturday and the Free Throws were 14-12 with the same common official. Just seems a little flaky. Great shot by Greenhill to win the game.

What's your complaint?

Sumo, with all due respect, Mason presses the whole game. It's common sense that there are gonna be risks (fouls) with the rewards (turnovers). and I hope you weren't implying a bad whistle at Boyd, cause if you were, we weren't watching the same game then.

Anyone who watched the 10th regional tournament last year knows the 16th has a couple of good officials but after that there is quite the drop off.

No complaint at Boyd, it was called fair as the Free Throws attest. East Carter different story. If Mason would have pressed the whole game at East, about five players would have fouled out. Boyd was fine host.
