The Professor Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Owsley wins a big district game in Booneville. They never trailed in this game. Robert Smith is slowly getting back into playing form. He had 26 points and 10 rebounds. Daniel Neeley had 17 points, and Trey Congleton scored 12 and had 10 rebounds. Kiser led Powell with 14. Next up for the Owls is Hazard Thursday in Booneville.
LeeCoBobcatFan Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Good game here for the owls. Nice district win.
sixtyfeetsix Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 WOW..I am impressed. I wish I would have made it to the game. I hope the winning continues, because I hated to see those boys losing so much. Way to go Owls! :dancingpa
sixtyfeetsix Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 When my man Trey performs it boosts the entire team! I believe he is the key to winning in the future. Everyone knows Robert Smith can play, and Daniel Neeley can score, but a lot of teams over look Trey Congleton. He can be dangerous!
Augger Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Owsley County Played their best game all season. They played hard defense and actually ran offensive sets. This could be the game that the Owls have been looking for. Another Player Dustin Wilson of the Owls played well. He didnt score alot but I am sure he probaly had 12-15 rebounds.
sixtyfeetsix Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 It did seem as if Owsley wasn't playing too aggressively the past few games. That is the key to them winning IMO. Stay up,and play hard. :fire:
TaylorMadeBoy Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 This is what gets your team going, a big win after a long losing streak.
The Professor Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 If Owsley can win at Powell, which is never easy, then they will be the # 3 seed in the district, but I don't know if it will matter. Right now Lee will be the 1 seed if they can defeat Estill on Feb 3rd. But if Estill wins at Lee by more than 3 points, and can take care of matters against Powell in Irvine, then they will be the 1 seed. I doubt if any of the district teams want to play Lee in the first round of the district, so a lot of questions will be answered in the next few weeks.
*The Prophet Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Sounds like a good win to boost some confidence in the young owls. Did it seem as if smith and neeley had any problems tonight or did they play with some chemistry?

RoundLeather Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I missed the score, but I did predict a win for the Owls.
GreenMachine Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I agree with sixtyfeetsix Trey is the key for Owsley. Robert can play with anybody, Neeley can shoot, if Trey can learn to take people off the dribble then Owsley will be alright. I think all Trey needs to do is do it to get his confidence up and things will work out just fine. Dustin Wilson is a rebounding machine way to go.
