I'm not disagreeing with anyone on this thread but isn't it a bit naive to assume how college coaches recruit? Are you telling me coaches only lure, not evaluate, at games? What happens when you have a kid in the south, who doesn't have the means to travel to numerous camps. I think if a player is good enough, a coach will go anywhere to see him play. Sometimes youtube highlights aren't quite enough.

Well the truth of the matter is many very good athletes don't get recruited because they don't attend camps. It's just the nature of the beast. Yes there are some that do, but there are many more that don't because they can't get to camps and combines and just go un noticed by recruiters. A lot also depends on the HC at the High school and the AD. If a kid is good enough to play at the next level it is part of their job to do some leg work in getting college recruiters on the kids radar etc.

 

But again, the best way to get noticed is through camps and combines.
