October 28, 201213 yr A US Citizen and his son were targeted and killed by its own government without trial or due process. Lets face it. Arresting any terrorist and putting them on trial was problematic after the failure to try Gitmo prisoners in the US. The administration could not add more prisoners to Gitmo or even bring them into the country for trial. It would have been politically problematic. So the answer - just kill them (and their children if they happen to be around). And kill them even if they are US citizens. This administration has shown no respect to the sanctity of human life. Want to kill someone without trial and have no questions asked? Call them a terrorist.

He, himself, was still a US citizen - as was his son. He was a terrorist and had declared war on the US basically. But there was no due process before he was personally and directly targetted for killing. No warrent, no 'Wanted Dead or Alive' posters, no trial in absence, no declaration of loss of US citizenship, nothing. Just - we know you are a terrorist - look out below. Too bad such a decisive decision could not be made the evening of September 11.

It's a sad day in partisan politics when you can't even hold your guy accountable for killing a 16 year old American citizen suspected of a crime without trial. Has nothing to do with partisan politics. I wouldn't be mad at Romney or any president wishing to use the drones. As a parent I wouldn't use my kids as leverage to keep an enemy country from bombing my house. If the roles were reversed do you honestly think that if I was targeted by a country that they would not bomb my house because my family is there?

October 29, 201213 yr Can you prove he wasn't? Since when did an American have to prove he wasn't a terrorist? I think these drone attacks are not only immoral, but they're pretty short-sighted. For every terrorist that's killed in one, I bet that dozens more are recruited using them as propaganda.

There's nothing anyone will be able to say to make me feel guilty for this killing or any killing connected to terrorism. Dude declared war on America and shacked up with al-Queda in Yemen. He wasn't exactly disavowing his allegiance. Sorry, he had to go. As should anyone shacking up with known enemies from terrorist organizations. This dude preached to some of the 9/11 pilots. I have to say it's probably a poor strategy but I agree. I don't know if this guy deserved to die or not but in general I have no problem. I'm sure he isn't the only person rubbed out by the CIA without a trial.

Apples to oranges. Get at me when we start using drone attacks on South Central Los Angeles or Harlem. But truthfully gangs have been doing that same thing to themselves for decades and last I saw they couldn't manufacture their own weapons.
