Steelers 24 Bengals 17

It's going to be 20,000 words. Takes a while to write that.

Hey not much to say when most of the things you all have said is right. You all think I argue just to argue, however I only do based on things I see. Which right now everyone is right about the Bengals. I mean I could do what you did last year, and try to make an argument for why they are a good team, like you did last year for why they were bad even though the results showed otherwise. However the play on the field shows they are not. Good teams make plays at end of games to win them, bad teams find ways to lose them. Last year they made the plays to win the games, this year they make plays to cost the the games. You all are right this is a bad football team right now.

Lets face it folks, as long as the Browns own the team (and they aren't going anywhere) and Marvin Lewis is the Head Coach the best we will ever be able to hope for is a mediocre team that once every 8 to 10 years might slip into the playoffs. I resigned myself to this fact several years ago and it allows me to not be disappointed week in and week out. Last night the offense stunk and the coaching was even worse. Go Bengals!

Well considering they have made the playoffs 3 times in the last 10 years, that simply is not true. With that said I am in complete agreement with everyone, Marvin has to go! Any other coach in America would have been gone by now.

First challenge was total incompetence. Who in the hell is advising Lewis on challenges? Person must be fired tonight.

Dalton is not the future. Many changes need to be implemented.

So everyone is finally coming around on Dalton?

Gruden was out coached last night by a lot. It's going to happen occasionally against Lebeau, but last night was brutal.

At least Marvin will be gone after this year. Oh wait, he just signed an extension.

One person has said Dalton is not the future, and you say everyone is starting to see what you said? Remember I said he reminds me a lot of Brees. What did Brees do his first couple of years in the NFL? Not much at all, actually he struggled so much that is what caused them to draft Rivers. So way to early for people to say he will not work out.

With that said he does have to show he can win these games. Many people hated on Palmer, however the one thing he did know how to do well was win in the division. Dominant records against the Ravens, and Browns. The Steelers still dominated at Cincy, but he did win some at Pittsburgh. Right now Dalton has yet to show that he can. If we get to next season and he still can not, then you definitely will be right.

Dalton has gotten progressively worse as the season has worn on....Each week I think there's no way he could play worse and he goes out there and proves me wrong each time.

I can't argue that. I know the defense is not good, however they actually have played well enough to win if the offense does anything. In the 2nd half alone yesterday once the Bengals got down a touchdown. The defense kept giving the ball back to the offense, to only see the offense go three and out. That is three weeks in a row that the defense played well enough to win, but the offense has not been there. As others have, and I will say it too. They are just a bad football team right now.

Is Palmer still as bad as you all made him out to be when he was here? I mean the guy did know how to win games in this division at least. :D

Las year they were the best bad team. Every good team they played beat them. This year they can't even claim that.

FC this makes more than one. Also, nobody is coming in here firing away about how dumb it is to question him like they did last year. Collinsworth mentioned last night that Gruden told him he gets rid of the ball before the play develops. So now he doesn't have a great arm and he isn't willing to let the whole play develop. Not great

Brees benefited greatly from a dome, a great offensive coach and a great system. Gruden isn't Payton. Marvin certainly isn't. They came out last night in their biggest offensive series of the year and went handoff, handoff, deep jump ball, punt. There went the season.

They were a good team last year. As we are seeing this year they are not. Good teams find ways to win games, and make the plays to win them. That is what they did last year and why they made the playoffs. Also as we have seen this year it is not easy to go out to win all the games your suppose to win every week. They did that last year, because they made plays when they needed to which good teams do. Bad teams don't make those plays and find ways to lose games. This year they are a bad team, last year they were not. Pretty simple.

Which once again he is in his second year. Guys like him and Brees don't have the strongest arms in the world but good enough arms. Guys like him and Brees are not the biggest guys either and have to have windows to throw too. It took Brees a couple of years to get it right. I don't know the number but at this point in their career Dalton possibly even has better number than Brees did at this point. Which you are right about Dalton not letting the plays develop enough, he is anticipating throws to early. Which he definitely has to get better at, and if he doesn't then he will continue to struggle.

As for Brees you do realize after a first couple of rough years that caused them to draft Rivers. That he ended up having a breakout last season with the Chargers. He started playing great before he even joined the Saints and playing in that dome. It just took him time, just like it might take Dalton time. However three years is the most I would give him to start showing that he will end up getting it.

They won games last year because they faced terrible starting QB's or backup QB's.

I feel very confident saying Dalton will never be as good as Brees is right now.

I want to be clear where I stand on Dalton even though nobody cares. I like Dalton. I think he has the potential to be pretty good. The Bengals really screwed him and AJ Green this offseason by not getting them a reliable number 2 option on the other side of the field. Hawkins is good enough for the slot, but they need a true number 2. His problem is he isn't going to be great. He needs to be great b/c they have an idiot owner and an idiot head coach. Great QB's can hide some or most of that. Good ones can't. It's not his fault his situation is terrible. He just isn't going to be elite enough to overcome it IMO.

Aarod Rodgers lost to the Matt Cassell and the Chiefs last year. Rodgers lost to a rookie this year in the Colts. Who have Luck by still is a rookie and nothing more but average at best at this point. Patriots lost to a rookie QB in Seattle in Wilson, who's Seattles passing offense I believe ranks in the bottom 5 in the NFL in passing or something like that. Shoot the Pats lost to Kevin Kolb and the Cardinals this year. Guess what most of those teams these tops QB lost to had? Top defenses or at least played as top defenses that day. So it didn't matter that they were playing QB's who were not that good. They still couldn't get the wins. That gets in the whole debate we had all off season. We have seen it all year that even top teams are struggling beating teams with QB's who are rookies or just not good QB's. Its because it is not easy to go out every week and get it done in those games that they are suppose to win. Good teams do it, and the Bengals were a good team and did it last year. This year the year they are not, so they are not a good team. Pretty simple.
