I think Powell wins by about 10. I hope I'm wrong, but until proven otherwise, Owsley just doesn't have the firepower to beat a rapidly improving Powell County team.

Both teams rely heavily in outside shooting but Powell plays much better defense. I'd say Powell by 15.

Powell is improving but it is tough to win in Booneville. I still believe the Owls need an additional week or so to get together. Powell in a nail biter. It may be one of their best wins of the year if they can pull it off.

It may be one of their only wins if they pull it off. Looking at their schedule, IMO, the only winnable games are the OBI and Breathitt Co. games. They still have to face Jackson City, JBS, and Cordia at home.

But Owsley County has always been proud of playing a tough schedule.....that's the only way you can get better, and prepared for post-season.

However, it's not the best schedule for a young and struggling team.

As far as 14th regional teams, the Owls have already played Lee twice, Estill twice, Perry, Buckhorn twice, Leslie once and have to play them again. Plus they have remaining games with Hazard, Powell twice, Breathitt, Knott Central, Letcher Central, Jackson City, and June Buchanan.

Smith has yet to show the form of a great player. I think powell will win this one. Looking at Owsleys schedule, i dont see too many wins coming up

Smith can't be expected to show much form at all until he gets some practice and games under his belt. It's going to take him a while to get back in playing shape and to get a feel for the game. He's averaging 17 points in the two games he's played so far.....hopefully that will only get better as the season progresses.

I think one of the big problems Owsley has right now is Neeley's injuries. Maybe he will be at full speed in a couple of weeks.

Plus they need to play some defense, and get Trey Congleton more involved in the offense.
