Why is it so weak??? just because some of the traditionally strong schools are not on this list doesn't make it weak...

 

South Laurel...defending STATE CHAMPS.

Paintsville...always a traditional power..and will make a run for Rupp as usual.

Barbourville...haven't seen.

Somerset....have been very good for several years.

Perry Central...maybe not as strong as the last couple of years...but still capable of beating anyone on their schedule.

Morgan Co....one of the best defensive teams I have seen...the best team in the 16th.

Lee...very talented...capable of making a run.

Belfry...back in the upper echelon of the 15th after a few down years..have beaten both Perry and Morgan..

Clay..traditional power making a new run.

JBS..very good..talented..can make some noise.

 

I think it is good to see some different teams having good years..just because they are different doesn't make them weak!!!

It is bad when small schools like Lee Co,JBS,etc has to constantly defend their teams against people who probably have never watched them play. I bet the coach of this guys home team would probably not look forward to playing any of these mountain schools.

Thanks for the support. I think that us smaller schools should get more press than we do. We are doing what these 3a schools are doing but with 300 students.

I agree, it would be a good game but I have to give Clay the edge. They have similar records but Lee lost to Jackson :confused:. I can't say that Lee has not beat anybody but they don't have what you would call a big win. Clay lost to Knox Cath, Perry Central in OT and Madison Central and recently defeated Harlan @ Harlan, Powell @ Powell and Harrison @ Clay.

Lee County did lose at Jackson County in the first game of the season, but they missed 20 free throws, something that's unusual for Lee. I don't think the Generals would win a re-match. And Lee has some impressive wins over Johnson Central in the JC Invitation, two wins over Estill, two over Powell (who Clay narrowly defeated), and a win over Bell. They lost a close one by 5 at Perry.

I agree, it would be an interesting matchup, but the way that Lee is playing right now, I would have to give them the edge on a neutral floor.

This has nothing to do with my ego. South has lost and will lose again. In My Opinion, mountain basketball is weaker than it has been in years. I am sorry that I spelled mediocre wrong and you should say "been beaten", not been beat. MEDIOCRE!!!!!
