Mustang
This one was over before the fans were comfortable in their seats. After showing some life vs Lloyd last week, it was hoped that the Mustangs would take another step forward against the Newport Wildcats, as the two more than likely battled for the final 2-A playoff berth. On their first play of the game from scrimmage a 65 yard pass play from Short to Short resulted in a Newport TD (11:38). On Brossart's first play from scrimmage, Casey Pelgen was intercepted by JaShawn Short who ramble 40 yards for a second Newport score (11:14). Two ensuing Newport TDs made it 27-0 at the end of the quarter, and a 14-0 second period made it 41-0 at the half. Running clock starting at the 9:58 mark of the third period shortened the time the fans had to sit in the rain and dropping temperatures. Simply not our finest hour. Newport too quick and athletic for the Mustangs defense. Bright spot of the night - Brossart Freshman Logan Schoulties ran for 116 (BB) or 127 (N) yards depending on whose stats you are reading, gaining over 100 yards for the first time in his 7 game career. Pelgen completed 11 passes for 84 yards.
katbird
Where do the kids that go to Brossart Feeders play football at? Red Devils, Campbell Co. League or FTJFL?
THEDUDEABIDES
Sounds like BB might need a change in coaching
Pile Driver
Sounds like BB might need a change in coaching Agreed. But I think they really need to get a coach in the building who can get some of those athletes in the hallways.
